Unfortunately, the fight ended prematurely when Adiwang suffered a devastating torn ACL in the second round. Miado took advantage of the situation and pounced on him to claim a TKO finish – his third straight win – and the #5-ranked position in the division.
Meanwhile, Adiwang was sidelined for 18 months as he worked his way back to full strength. The 30-year-old made a successful return this past September, however, knocking out Adrian Mattheis in under 30 seconds at ONE Friday Fights 34.
“There are a lot of what-ifs from that fight, and I don’t like that,” he told ONE in a recent interview. “Once and for all, we’re going to be facing each other again. I know fans are excited. I’m excited as well. I’m just praying that we get to show what we’re capable of without injuries, so that we can reach the expectations of the fans and satisfy our expectations within ourselves as well.”
All of this to show the world that he is as good as ever. Ahead of his upcoming battle, Adiwang revealed that his loss to “The Jaguar” has weighed on him, so he is looking forward to getting a crack at his compatriot once again. But will it be all in vain?
