Whether it’s innovative grappling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or just raw, concussive punching power, these finishes from the athletes competing at ONE on Prime Video 5 will live on in highlight reels forever.

#1 Reinier De Ridder’s Inverted Triangle

Considered by many to be one of the best grapplers in all of MMA, two-division king Reinier de Ridder will test his top-tier ground game against current ONE Interim Heavyweight World Champion Anatoly Malykhin.

“The Dutch Knight’s” reputation for finding the submission is well deserved. In his last bout – a World Title defense against Vitaly Bigdash at ONE 159 in July – De Ridder landed arguably the best submission of 2022.

After surviving an early guillotine scare, the Dutchman wrapped up an inverted triangle choke, contorting Bigdash’s body in a gruesome way before putting him all the way to sleep in a violent display of grappling mastery.

#2 Anatoly Malykhin Decimates Amir Aliakbari

Malykhin tends to take a different route to find the finish. At ONE: REVOLUTION in September 2021, the Russian powerhouse squared off with massive heavyweight Amir Aliakbari.

Out to prove the adage that “the bigger they are, the harder they fall,” Malykhin blitzed the Iranian from the opening bell with heavy leather, landing thunderous blows that quickly put his Middle Eastern rival on wobbly legs.

The knockout came late in the first round with a picture-perfect left hook that melted Aliakbari, solidifying “Sladkiy’s” status as a devastating knockout artist.

#3 Kade Ruotolo’s Destructive Heel Hook

This past October at ONE on Prime Video 3, teenage jiu-jitsu prodigy Kade Ruotolo took on Sambo World Champion Uali Kurzhev for the inaugural ONE Lightweight Submission Grappling World Title.

In a beautiful showing of BJJ technique, the Californian controlled the action from start to finish. Nearly halfway through the 10-minute match, the always-attacking Ruotolo attached himself to Kurzhev’s leg, setting a deep hook grip. The sambo stylist attempted to escape but only made matters worse as the American teen star dropped his entire bodyweight onto the leg, twisting Kurzhev’s foot at a grotesque angle.
