ONE Championship is gearing up for another massive event this Friday, April 21. ONE Fight Night 9: Nong-O vs. Haggerty is guaranteed to be fireworks when it takes over the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, thanks to its blistering lineup of bouts. The card is headlined by a massive ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title showdown but will also feature three additional battles in the striking art, along with six explosive mixed martial arts matchups.

Many important questions will be answered when the curtain comes down in the Thai capital, and before it kicks off, we break down three that are burning the most.
#1 Can Haggerty Bring An End To Nong-O’s Streak?
Jonathan “The General” Haggerty will kick off his tenure in the bantamweight Muay Thai division with the biggest fight possible when he challenges divisional king Nong-O Hama for the throne. The British striking star will enter the Circle set to make the most of the occasion, and the three-fight winning streak he is currently enjoying says that he can get the job done.
But his tussle with Nong-O is set to be the trickiest test of his career so far. The defending World Champion has been a true force in the bantamweight Muay Thai division, and he doesn’t seem ready to slow down anytime soon.
This will be Nong-O’s eighth World Title defense since he began his tenure in ONE, where he has amassed a 10-0 slate that includes five finishes in his last five fights.
#2 Who Leaves The Ring Unbeaten, Amir Or Abevi?
Friday’s co-main event meeting will see a heated showdown between two undefeated lightweight MMA stars – Halil Amir and Maurice Abevi. The pair boast 14 combined victories from as many fights, and they have both finished every opponent so far.
Unfortunately, one of their streaks will come to an end when they clash at Lumpinee Stadium. Fourth-ranked lightweight contender Amir delivered a performance of a lifetime in his promotional debut last year, and he’s motivated to maintain that momentum in the hopes of springboarding himself toward a shot at the Word Title.
Standing across from him is Swiss slugger Maurice Abevi, who’s set for his ONE debut on April 21, so he’ll be fired up to make a name for himself and keep his unbeaten charge alive.

#3 Will Brooks’ Next Challenger Emerge?
Second-ranked strawweight contender Bokang “Little Giant” Masunyane and #3-ranked Hiroba Minowa will duke it out on the evening’s main card – in a battle that could push either man towards a shot at Jarred “The Monkey God” Brooks’ divisional crown.

Both stars are returning following a loss to Brooks last year, with Masunyane going down in his first career defeat at ONE 156 and Minowa coming up short at ONE: ONLY THE BRAVE.
With gold at stake, as well as a shot at redemption, fans should expect these two to throw everything at each other to show why they deserve to be the first to challenge “The Monkey God’s” reign.
