Kade Ruotolo beat Uali Kurzhev on ONE on Prime Video 3 to secure the inaugural ONE Lightweight Submission Grappling World Title. The event went down in the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur on October 21. 19-year-old Ruotolo submitted 4-time Sambo world champion Kurzhev via heel hook to secure his victory.
Ruotolo’s latest win comes after his record-setting title win at ADCC. In a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, UFC commentator Joe Rogan talked about the Ruotolo brothers. He pointed out how they were dominating in Jiu-Jitsu competitions despite their young age.

Joe Rogan mentioned the Ruotolo brothers
Twin brothers Tye and Kade Ruotolo are two of the hottest prospects in the grappling sphere right now. They’re both only just 19 years of age and are already dominating reputed Jiu-Jitsu tournaments. Grappling legend Andre Galvao promoted them both to black belts before they reached the eligible age of 19.
During his conversation with Mike Sarraille and Andy Stumpf, Joe Rogan mentioned the Ruotolo twins. Andy Stumpf was talking about his experience training Jiu-Jitsu. He said that he saw a black belt training with a really young kid and wondered how he would fare against the kid. Stumpf was pointing out how experienced youngsters in Jiu-Jitsu could easily take out combat veterans like him on the mat.
Joe Rogan took this instance to mention the Ruotolo twins. In response to Stumpf’s statements, Rogan asked, “How about the Ruotolo brothers? 19-years-old and they’re f*cking everybody up.” Rogan’s observation of the Ruotolo brothers might be accurate. Kade Ruotolo recently made history by becoming the youngest-ever ADCC champion. He achieved this remarkable feat at just 19 years of age. In addition to that, he also secured two high-profile wins in ONE Championship. He defeated the grappling phenom, Shinya Aoki, on his debut. In just his second bout, he submitted highly decorated Sambo specialist Uali Kurzhev to secure the ONE Lightweight Submission Grappling World Title.
Tye Ruotolo’s achievements in grappling are many. He holds a prestigious WNO belt like his brother, Kade Ruotolo. Tye Ruotolo also holds the record for the youngest athlete ever to reach the ADCC semifinals. He did this at just 16 years of age in 2019. On his ONE Championship debut, he made quick work of the veteran Garry Tonon. He submitted Tonon in around two minutes to secure an impressive start to his ONE Championship career.
