Denis Puric is heading into his next ONE Championship outing with the self-belief of a man who doesn’t see losing as an option.

On Friday, June 7, “The Bosnian Menace” is set to square off with flyweight Muay Thai king Rodtang Jitmuangnon in a kickboxing battle at ONE 167: Stamp vs. Zamboanga inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

In his last appearance, Puric beat #2-ranked flyweight Muay Thai contender Jacob Smith to take his spot in the divisional rankings. Though he may not be challenging for “The Iron Man’s” World Title when he takes him on, the Bosnian-Canadian striker is still ready to make a statement.

“I’m excited, that’s all I’m saying. I didn’t mind it, when I learned it was kickboxing, three rounds. Buddy, I’m going to make a fool out of him,” he said.

Through five appearances in the world’s largest martial arts organization, Puric has only competed in Muay Thai. But he has a wealth of experience in kickboxing to depend upon, which gives him supreme confidence in his skills.

On top of that, the 39-year-old has been gunning for a meeting with Rodtang since he joined ONE Championship, so he’s fired up for a slew of reasons.

“It’s my type of fight. The way he fights, comes forward, aggressive, he likes to get into these brawls – that’s my kind of fight, man. And when I saw it, it reminded me of me, and I’m just like, ‘I need to go and fight this guy,’” Puric said.

Puric is not scared of “The Iron Man”

“The Iron Man’s” antics in and out of the ring have helped make him a household name. But it’s his vast arsenal of weapons that make him feared throughout the striking world.

Puric doesn’t seem too worried by what Rodtang can do, however, as he believes the rule set of their matchup will stand against the flyweight Muay Thai titleholder.

“Honestly, I feel that I have more tools than him, especially in kickboxing. His thing is just pressure. He comes forward. He drains guys. He pressures, and guys get scared, but you’ve seen me. I’m not that guy who just sits there and is just scared. I don’t get scared,” he said.
