His achievements in wrestling earned him the top position among all wrestlers in his weight category, thus demonstrating his readiness for nationwide competition. His path has been anything but predictable. Gable made a short attempt to join WWE by signing a contract, although he ultimately decided the wrestling organization did not match his aspirations. “WWE just wasn’t the right time. I have a competitive edge. They knew that, and it was not the time for it,” he told 411Mania. When he left WWE, he joined the NFL and signed a three-year agreement with the Buffalo Bills.

His international success proved to him that he could compete at the highest level. “Going over there and winning those titles proved that I could go overseas and compete,” Gable said. Moreover, when it came time to choose a college, Gable had powerhouse programs like Iowa vying for his commitment. Many expected him to follow the legacy of Dan Gable at Iowa, but for Steveson, staying close to home was a priority. “Minnesota was always the frontrunner,” he explained.

“I wanted to leave a legacy here in Minnesota and to be that spark that the team needed for their rebuild at the time.” Throughout his life journey, Gable continued to persevere while demonstrating determination alongside respecting his family heritage.
