In the world of high school wrestling, few names carry the weight of Bo Bassett. The Bishop McCort phenom has captivated fans and drawn unprecedented attention from over 80 top collegiate wrestling programs nationwide. But what truly sets Bo apart isn’t just his impressive track record—it’s the extraordinary lengths he and his family are willing to pursue excellence. How, you may ask?

Bo Bassett is one of the youngest sensations in the wrestling world. And from this list of 80 colleges, he will be choosing his future. He once said that he not only wanted to decide the college but also a family. And that’s why he is taking his time to make sure he goes for the best program. But for now, Bo Bassett is making all efforts to hone his skills. And Bo’s family stands like a pillar.

Besides vigorous wintertime obstacles, such as -12 degrees of snow, Bassett’s tough devotion to the sport comes through very deeply. Bo’s father, Bill Bassett, most recently talked about the hurdles and the constant work that are the reason for his son’s rise in the wrestling world.

According to ‘The Tribute Democrat,’ Bill said, “The craziest part about all of this is you see the grind that coaches put in.” In addition to bringing coaches to Johnstown, the recruitment process has brought the best wrestlers in the nation to join the Crimson Crushers. Bill claimed that Brands and Morningstar of Iowa’s shoveling assistance was just the latest in a string of noteworthy actions by college coaches.

Coaches from powerhouse programs like Iowa and Penn State are pulling out all the stops to secure his commitment, with some going as far as flying private jets to Johnstown just to witness his talent firsthand. Bo Bassett’s father and Bishop McCort wrestling coach Bill Bassett have something to say about the efforts Bassett is making.

Bill Bassett also added, “They ran practices at 3:30 at Iowa. And flew a private jet into Johnstown. They got here at 7, so they did two hours with Bo. They did two hours with Jax.” What efforts is he talking about? Due to snow, they had to face many issues, like delays in practice and shoveling the snow at -12 degrees. Bo Bassett posted on X, “The recruiting process has been so much fun for myself, family, and brothers. Last night Iowa was in, and they helped us shovel in -12 degrees for 5 a.m. Thanks, Coach Brands & Morningstar.”
