June 2024 was the day Bo Bassett’s girlfriend hit “post” on Instagram and—boom! The internet had a new favorite wrestling couple. The picture instantly made them the talk of the town, and just like any good love story, the content didn’t stop there. More pics rolled in through July until now because, let’s be honest, what’s young love without a steady stream of ‘Look at us, we’re adorable‘ posts?
But while social media was busy swooning, Bassett was out here making headlines for a completely different reason! Bo was pulling off what might be the toughest wrestling decision ever. But being from Pennsylvania, ignoring Penn State, and picking Iowa instead? Yet, recently, Bo made it official, choosing the Hawkeyes over Penn State and three other top programs. That’s wrestling heresy.
Yet, on February 4, that’s exactly what he did, picking the Hawkeyes over some serious competition. But did all that controversy stop him from celebrating Valentine’s Day? Absolutely not. Well, on 14th February, there was only one name on Bo Bassett’s mind—Ayda Dorian.

Bo went all in on Instagram, posting a collage: one pic of them smiling in a car, another of them strolling down the street like a rom-com couple, and the last? A solo shot of Ayda—because every relationship post needs that one ‘Wow, look at my girlfriend’ moment. His caption? “Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️” with a sweet “I love you always and forever.” And was this love just one-sided? Nope! Ayda posted too, proving that while Bo might be dodging Penn State, he’s definitely not dodging romance.

Ayda also shared a story of them, adding to the couple’s growing collection of sweet moments. According to Instagram, it looks like they’ve been dating since June 2024—almost a year now! And if that wasn’t proof enough, back on January 2, Ayda posted a cozy holiday picture of them with the caption, “Home for the holidays.”
Bo, clearly aiming for Boyfriend of the Year, went all out in the comments, replying: “Absolutely breathtaking, stunning, radiant, gorgeous, so pretty, mesmerizing, angelic, divine, cute, otherworldly, jaw-dropping, heart-stopping, heavenly, exquisite, and beautiful!!” Yes, he really said all that.
He then added, “I love you, Aydalynn.” Ayda, not missing a beat, replied, “I love you, Bowen.” Wait—Bowen? It looks like we just uncovered Ayda’s special nickname for Bo! But enough about the romance. Bo isn’t just out here winning hearts. He’s also putting his rivals on notice.

Bo Bassett wants payback
Bishop McCort’s wrestling team is fired up, and for good reason—17-year-old phenom Bo Bassett and his squad are on a mission for redemption. Last year’s state final loss still stings, but now, with the championship just around the corner, they’ve got a shot at payback. And Bo? He’s making sure everyone knows it. “The excitement for the whole program and the whole area is very high,” he said.
And why wouldn’t it be? Faith Christian Academy may have taken a hit against Wyoming Seminary in December, but they’re still sitting at No. 1 after steamrolling McCort in the 2024 PIAA Class 2A finals, 46-18. Now, the rematch is set, and both teams are ready to go to war.

Faith Christian has been unstoppable, racking up wins at Ironman, Beast of the East, and Escape the Rock. Meanwhile, McCort took a tough loss to the Lions at Ironman (213-177.5) but bounced back in a big way with a dominant 37-17 win over Wyoming Seminary. And at the center of it all?
Bo Bassett—the No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2026, an undefeated high school star, and a social media sensation who’s bringing fresh eyes to the sport. He’s already set to join the Iowa Hawkeyes, but first, there’s unfinished business. Faith Christian handed McCort a brutal loss last year, and if there’s one thing we know about Bo, it’s that he doesn’t forget. Now, it’s time to settle the score.
