On March 4, Hunter Woodhall visited his father in Utah to be with him through his recovery from open-heart surgery. But things took an unexpected turn as the Paralympian himself ended up in the hospital bed! Wondering how? Hunter experienced abdominal pain and went through a check-up; he found out it was his appendix. Thus, he had to go through an emergency appendectomy. It did lead to a wave of concerns among fans and loved ones. And to ease the same, Hunter kept on updating everything on his Instagram. It seems that these updates weren’t sufficient to calm down the nerves of that special someone!

Also, did you notice someone in particular was missing besides Hunter when this entire episode unfolded? Yes, it was his wife Tara Davis-Woodhall! Well, we cannot blame her because this was just going to be a family visit, and what unfolded was a sudden turn of events. Now Tara has reacted, and it seems that the entire episode was rather overwhelming for her. When Hunter underwent the surgery, Tara felt like she was left far away from it. As she went through the whole experience, the Olympic long jumper may have had a big realization, and she took to social media to express her heartfelt feelings. And what are those?

Having to see her husband suddenly go into surgery took a toll on Tara. As she didn’t even have the chance to visit him before the procedure. And Hunter, being his hilarious self and probably to make the entire situation a bit less overwhelming, posted on Threads on March 4: “Gotta have my appendix removed. Didn’t need that shit anyways.” But Tara Davis-Woodhall wasn’t having any fun. She was worried. She was stressed. After all, her husband has undergone the knife. And her reply said it all: “How are you still joking even in pain 😭😭 I wish I was there.”

Thus, she probably teared up, overwhelmed with how things changed so quickly. Within 4 hours, Hunter was out of surgery and in recovery. Meanwhile, Tara was anxious and waiting to hear from Hunter. Eventually, the news must have gotten through to her, and she couldn’t contain her relief and joy. She promptly shared the update with her fans online: “Thank you Jesus for a successful surgery 🥹✨” Here as well her emotions were visible, and honestly we can’t blame her at all. Seeing your loved one going through a hard time is definitely difficult. And what would have been more difficult to comprehend was that she wasn’t by his side, at least in person. Also, she wasn’t done with just two replies!

The 2024 Paris Olympics long jump gold medalist seems to have already made a decision. She loves Hunter too much to go through something like this ever again. Her latest update on Threads read: “I will never let hunter go anywhere without me ever again😭 we were literally only away from each other for less than 24 hours.” Yes, Tara isn’t allowing her husband and Hunter to leave each other’s side. It seems the whole situation has affected her a little bit too much. Her emotions are clearly visible, and we couldn’t agree less with her.

But is it the first time Tara showed her support and love for her husband, Hunter Woodhall? Also, what about Hunter? Has he openly displayed love and support for Tara?

Hunter shared a cute clip on Instagram on August 8. As a perfect wingman, Hunter was setting up Tara for a triumphant comeback with the question, “Everyone wants to know what you would do if you didn’t win?” Tara’s answer: “I guess we will never know.” The Woodhalls are really a perfect couple who set one another up for success. Later, Hunter would even take to Instagram to post how Tara’s win was her alone, and she deserves it all: “No words to describe how proud of you I am. No luck involved, you earned this. Discipline, work ethic, and grit. These are the moments, and this is your moment. Soak it in ❤️.”

Having won her gold in Paris, now it was her turn to cheer for Hunter Woodhall. And she was going to be there in the stadium close to him to see him do it. In an interview on August 10, 2024, she said, “We’re going to go home for 13 days, pack it up, get some more training in for Hunter, and we’re gonna be back … it doesn’t end here.”

Tara Davis-Woodhall was there when her husband ran home the 400m T62 race in the first place. She had even cheered for the whole Paralympic athletics community, encouraging the fans to see how athletes like Hunter win the world: “I’ve been telling everyone that—watch the Paralympics! It’s going to be a special show.” And oh boy! It was a golden Olympics for the couple. Like a mirror, after winning his race, Hunter ran straight to Tara to celebrate. Both of them were so proud of each other and so happy. No wonder Tara and Hunter are not just a power couple but practically soulmates.
