An unlikely race may be imminent in the track and field community. American Olympic couple Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall have shaken the discussion with their declaration that Sha’Carri Richardson’s win may be guaranteed against a shocking contender. Although some believe that it may be an interesting duel, others already know the outcome of the match if it were to happen- the mystery contender doesn’t stand a chance.
We are referring to the YouTube sensation IShowSpeed. No one can forget the viral 50-meter friendly race between Noah Lyles and IShowSpeed, where Speed nearly kept pace with the Olympic champion. As part of an entertainment event, in November 2024, Lyles competed against IShowSpeed at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. It all began when YouTube star Mr.Beast arranged for the race between the Florida native and the internet personality for a whopping $100,000, which Noah decided to donate to a charity. But Speed was not done yet. He would soon challenge none other than Sha’Carri Richardson on Feb 8 when they met at the Super Bowl flag football game.
The Woodhalls posted a video in which they can be seen talking about Sha’Carri Richardson and her being fit. The caption, “Who y’all got? Sha’Carri vs Speed,” says it all. But how does Richardson come into the picture amidst the couple’s lighthearted chat? Showing off the muscles, Tara Davis-Woodhall said, “Sometimes you can’t tell I’m muscular either until I go like this.”

Meanwhile, Hunter reminded about the video of Richardson demonstrating to IShowSpeed how fit she is and claiming that she will undoubtedly defeat him. The internet phenom IShowSpeed made statements about competing against Richardson. on social media also. “I gotta race Sha’Carri Richardson, y’all, alright? I’m not gonna cap,” IShowSpeed said. The video shows that the Woodhall couple was talking about the Flag Football Game in a small chat between them.
Hunter goes on saying, “You look like Sha’Carri in that video like I’m in race shape. That was hard.” What is the small chat between the sprinter and YouTuber all about? “I’m in race shape, y’all see right?” Richardson called out Speed with confidence, while IShowSpeed didn’t hold back and said, “I’m in race shape too!” The couple joked to put money on Sha’Carri, “I’ll put 10k on Sha’Carri. I don’t know who’s going to take my bet,” Hunter Woodhall said.
Meanwhile, Tara can be seen laughing at this bet. Hunter reiterated, “I’ll put 10k on Sha’Carri. Yeah, I’m betting Tara’s money on Sha’Carri.” The track and field community must not have forgotten about the Noah and Speed challenge. Now, fans are weighing in on whether this new challenge holds any merit—or if it’s simply wishful thinking.
Fans are divided over Sha’Carri Richardson and IShowSpeed’s perfect shape remark
Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall’s playful claim about Sha’Carri Richardson sparked a wave of reactions, with fans weighing in on whether IShowSpeed could stand a chance. Some pointed to his past performance, recalling, “Speed fast tho bro kept up with Noah Lyles in a 40, I think it’d be a fun race to watch 😂.” While Speed impressed many by staying close to the Olympic champion in their short sprint, closing the gap over a full race distance against a world-class sprinter like Sha’Carri is a different challenge altogether.
On the other hand, some fans dismissed the idea outright, backing Tara’s confidence in Sha’Carri. “Tara can beat Speed easy” and “Like Hunter said, she will beat his ass👏👏😂” were among the bold responses that left little room for debate. Given Sha’Carri’s explosive acceleration and dominance on the track, it’s hard to argue against the confidence her supporters have in her ability to outrun Speed with ease.

Others found themselves stuck in the middle, acknowledging Speed’s solid showing against Lyles while still siding with Sha’Carri’s elite sprinting credentials. “Man Speed was good against Noah; I think I could bet a dime on him,” one fan admitted, recognizing his athleticism. According to a Motion Athlete, Speed finished the 50-meter sprint in 5.98 seconds, while Lyles took 5.61 seconds.

However, another quickly shut down the debate with a blunt take: “Sha’Carri is about to take him back to streaming, bruh; the man has no chance.” With a remarkable timing of 10.65 seconds, she broke a championship record and won the gold medal in the women’s 100-meter sprint event. Whereas, Darren Jason Watkins Jr. comes from an outside world. So, the stakes are high.
With the American sprint queen in peak form, many believe the YouTuber would have a better shot sticking to content creation than challenging a world champion on the track. The race between a sprinter and a content creator would be a treat to watch.
