Hunter opened up in 2021 about how they balanced it all. He mentions how they’ve learned to communicate and support each other through it all. Tara added that they’ve worked hard to listen to each other and empathize. And not just telling each other how to feel, but also understanding where the other is coming from.
Their bond shone when Tara won gold in the women’s long jump at the Paris Olympics. After her win, she ran straight into Hunter’s arms, and he proudly told her, “Babe, you’re the Olympic champion!” That moment went viral, but Tara was quick to remind everyone that it’s just part of their everyday dynamic. “He’s my biggest supporter,” she said.
