The Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation honored Fraser-Pryce with the Key to the City of Kingston during her appearance at Wolmer’s Trust High School for Girls—her alma mater.

It is the highest accolade from the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation. Amid the celebrations, she cleared the air about her status. According to SportsMax TV’s Ricardo Chambers, “Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has confirmed that she is currently training.” The sprinter didn’t elaborate further on future competitions, but her confirmation sends a clear message: she’s not done yet. 

The honor was more than symbolic. Shelly also donated USD 50,000 toward education and student development, reinforcing her commitment to youth empowerment. A post by @ksamcorp captured the moment: “A parade fit for a queen! We welcome Ambassador the Hon. Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce… as the KSAMC prepares to present her with the Key to the City of Kingston.” With the iconic Jamaican continuing to train, retirement is no longer a certainty—it’s a conversation still in motion.
