Sha’Carri Richardson is channeling her supportive girlfriend energy this season for sprinter boyfriend, Christian Coleman. As the Xiamen Diamond League progressed, the Olympic medalist was spotted accompanying Coleman to the venue. And while Coleman will have an uphill battle on his hands, things might be just a little bit easier for him with his beau’s support. However, with Richardson, fashion and flair come hand in hand. And this time too, it was no different.
Taking to her Instagram story, Richardson dropped a video ahead of the races. As she captioned the clip, “Race day for the gang,” something particular caught the eye. One look and we could tell that Richardson had changed her look! While the US sprint sensation used to appear in colorful locks, she had dyed her hair black this time! Not only that, Richardson also seemed to have temporarily bid adieu to her straightened hair. This time, the Olympic 100m silver medalist could be spotted with bouncy, luscious curls!
And that was not all. Richardson was dressed quite aptly for a race day. She had a full-sleeve sports jacket on with a greyish-fitted top underneath. Giving herself a sporty look ahead of the commencement of the race, Richardson is looking all set to cheer the loudest for Coleman. Unfortunately, Sha’Carri Richardson’s best efforts did not bear rich fruits for her American boyfriend. Competing in the 100m, Coleman failed to secure the victory over a stacked lineup.

Akani Simbine, Lachlan Kennedy (yes, the Australian sprinter who outran Gout Gout at the Maurie Plant Meet), Letsile Tebogo, Ferdinand Omanyala; quite an intimidating list, right? But Coleman too had famously left Usain Bolt behind in 2017! So even though he did not secure a podium finish, how far exactly did Sha’Carri’s support take him?

Well, Coleman almost made his place on the podium, but then he didn’t. He clocked 10,18s to finish fourth, just behind Great Britain’s Jeremiah Azu who finished 3rd at 10.17s. Akani Simbine had a blitz as he dropped 9.99s to secure the victory. Ferdinand Omanyala from Kenya came in second with a time of 10.13s. We are confident that Coleman’s dream comeback is just around the corner! But what about Sha’Carri herself? Fans are pining to see her phenomenal form on the track. But unfortunately, the Olympic medalist seems to be taking some time to get back to mainstream competition. In the recently released World Relays lineup, Richardson was missing.
Sha’Carri Richardson and Noah Lyles pull out of World Relays
In a stunning twist just weeks before the World Athletics Relays, Sha’Carri Richardson and Noah Lyles have officially withdrawn from Team USA’s roster, leaving fans and pundits alike scrambling for answers. The two reigning world champions — expected to be centerpieces of the American sprint machine — were conspicuously absent when USATF released its 28-athlete lineup for Guangzhou. Their decision to sit out has triggered a whirlwind of speculation about strategy, fitness, and future goals.

Last season, Noah Lyles electrified the global stage in Nassau with a commanding 4x100m anchor leg, punctuated by his now-famous line, “Rivalry between who?” after the USA’s decisive win over Canada. Meanwhile, Sha’Carri Richardson, fresh off her Paris heroics, was widely tipped to supercharge the American women’s 4x100m squad. Fans had imagined her and Gabby Thomas rekindling their magic — but track, as ever, defies expectations.
Though the absence of Richardson and Lyles feels seismic, Team USA is determined to turn the page. Emerging stars like Erriyon Knighton and Twanisha “TT” Terry are poised to seize the moment, hinting that while two giants step aside for now, the next wave is already gathering speed under the Guangzhou lights.
