Prior to the 2025 Super Bowl matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs, the 24-year-old sprinter had a surprise meeting with YouTube star IShowSpeed. Speed wasted no time and dared Richardson to race him. The Olympic medalist, always ready to compete, refused to accept the challenge without some conditions. She shut down his enthusiasm with a clear message. “I don’t race for free,”. To this, Darren Watkins had an audacious response, “Everybody just be ducking,” 

But Sha’Carri Richardson wasn’t dodging—she simply had standards. If Speed wanted to race her, he needed to put in the work. “Tell him to come work out first,” she added. “Do an Olympian track workout, and then we can do a race.” Not one to back down, Speed accepted the challenge. “Race coming soon,” he declared. “I’m going to come to Texas.”

The YouTuber is known for his athletic challenges. He recently called out Tyreek Hill, who declined and previously raced Olympic medalist Noah Lyles for a $100,000 bet—a race he claims ended in a tie. Lyles, however, declined a rematch. Now, if he wants a shot at Sha’Carri Richardson, he’ll have to step onto the track on her terms.
