Will Sumner of Adidas won the race with a meet record of 1:14.04. Earlier, on January 19, 2025, at the Virginia Showcase, Wilson competed in the men’s 500m invitational. He finished second with a time of 1:02.49, while Andrew Salvodon of Bayside High School won the event, setting a new U.S. high school national record with a time of 1:00.49.

The 17-year-old Wilson is unstoppable. Despite two setbacks in the past, he is motivated and keeps his eyes on upcoming events. The USATF National Youth Indoor Championships, which is scheduled to be held between March 21 and 23, 2025, at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex, Staten Island, New York. Penn Relays will also be among his goals for 2025—April 24-26, 2025. Is that it?
Along with the professional goals ahead, Wilson’s main goal is to stay healthy. At the ‘Citius Mag’ interview, he said, “My goal is basically to stay healthy all season. If I stay healthy mentally and physically and put what I want to put down on the track, I think the sky is the limit for me this year.” In the same interview, Wilson also talked about his motivation. Wilson stated, “It’s basically just going out there every day and knowing that there’s someone out there working just as hard, or maybe even harder, and I’m going to have to outwork him.”
