“Could never be more proud.” Remember when Quincy Wilson’s girlfriend was over the moon about his debut on the Dazed 100 list back in December 2024? She was beaming that day! After all, seeing her boyfriend make it as an “inspirational, young talent” at 17 was a huge deal! But now? The tables have turned. Yes, because she just recently pulled off a massive track win. But while Quincy Wilson is yet to sound a wholesome reaction on it, his mother was quick to jump in on that! And you would love to read it!

Yes, we’re talking about Masai Russell’s younger sibling, Solai Russell. The 16-year-old just pulled off a major indoor win, which is a stark contrast to how Quincy Wilson’s early 2025 season has been going. The Bullis High School star was washed out by Chris Bailey at the USATF Indoors recently. But keeping all things aside, many expected him to react or drop a comment on Solai’s big win. And for obvious reasons. But while we are still waiting on that one, his mom has chimed in with a stunning reaction!

On March 1, Solai Russell’s joint IG post with EXL Sportsmedia informed that she’d won the 60m hurdles event at the Philly Circuit in a personal record time of 8.67 seconds. This time places her at #3 in Maryland, which is simply extraordinary. Also, this happens to be her first 60m hurdles gold of this season and her entire career, as she had finished 7th at the Ocean Breeze Elite Invitational last year, which was the only 60m hurdles final she made it to in 2024. Even in 2025 so far, Solai finished 5th at the NY Showcase and second at the recent East Coast Invitational.

Thus clearly, Solai’s win was a big deal for so many reasons. But Quincy Wilson? He kept it low-key with just a like on the Instagram post and a quick repost on his story, mixed in with other athlete updates from the meet. No big reaction, at least for now. But his mom? Well, Monique Wilson made sure to show some love! She reposted the news on her IG story with a hyped-up caption, “Let’s gooo [emoji].” Well, you could literally feel the excitement in her words!

Well, such an exchange of comments between both their families is nothing new. Previously, around November 2024, when both Quincy Wilson and Solai were decked up to attend a concert and had posted images online, it drew reactions from the hurdler’s family. Masai Russell commented, 😍😍😍period.” Whereas, Dr. Sharon Rusell, Masai’s mother, chimed in with, “All I can say is… absolutely gorgeous @solairusell and absolutely handsome @quincywilson.”

And now, it’s Wilson’s mom who is keeping up with the support trend. Just the way Solai has in the past!

Quincy Wilson’s girlfriend leaves no chance to flaunt his wins

Back in November 2024, Quincy Wilson was one of the most talked-about track athletes. After the year he’d had, it was only justified, right? Thus, SportsCenter Next added an IG post highlighting how the young gun is quickly shaping up into a superstar. “The sky is the limit for Quincy Wilson,” was the caption for the post that went on to detail how he is ready to take on more load for the 2028 LA Olympics.

Given this shout-out, Solai Russell could hardly keep calm. She chimed into the comment section with a loving reaction. “My heart” she wrote, showing her love and appreciation for her boyfriend. Clearly, she has been the one to openly support even the smallest of his wins. And now she’s getting a similar reciprocation from Wilson’s mother, which perhaps may have made her win even more special.
