Noah Lyles hardly ever remains silent when challenged by a rival. We’ve seen that with Tyreek Hill. But this time, he chose a different page from his playbook. Instead of a war of words, he’s opted for a more indirect, creative way to get back at an opponent. And not just him, this time, he was supported by his partner for life, who for once, turned into his playful partner in crime, as the two showed up to mock a rival seemingly. Any guesses who the rival is?

Well, yes. It’s most likely Fred Kerley. The rivalry dynamic between the two is raging right now, ever since Fred Kerley openly confessed on the Pivot Podcast, “Noah is really not on my level…Go look at the record books and who got more wins. I’ll leave it like that.” Well, Kerley was handed a brutal loss by Noah Lyles the last time they raced against each other in the Paris 100m finals, where the former settled for bronze while Lyles won the gold medal. But with the coming of 2025, things seemed to have fired up between them. And it looks like Kerley just got an answer back from the fastest man!

Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield are currently enjoying a relaxed getaway. And the water, the beach, seems to be bringing out a creative side in them. No wonder, on April 5, the two added a joint post on Instagram featuring three short videos. All three were either dance bits or just viral trends that they hopped onto. But the first one, oh, it looked like a snub at Kerley! It featured an act where Bromfield started with, “Him: I’m faster than your man.” “Really? Let me get him.” That’s when Noah Lyles enters the scene, and the two pull off a playful dance move that looks like they’re mocking that fact. The two replicated the action of eating with a spoon, hinting that perhaps the Olympic Champion eats challenges like these for breakfast!

Well, not just the recent beef between Fred and Noah Lyles, but also the timing of the video further hints that the “Him” they were referring to could be Kerley. At the inaugural leg of the Grand Slam Track in Kingston, Kerley lost the 100m race brutally, coming 7th in 10.30 seconds. This was way slower than anyone ever expected from him, and it saw him lose to an entire lineup, coming second last. Well, that’s when Noah Lyles and Junelle posted the “Fun on the beach with my love 🌊” update a few hours after Day 1 ended. So, the odds that it was a jibe are not ruled out. In fact, they are stronger than ever.

Well, that’s not it. On the Pivot Podcast, Fred Kerley opened up on his rivalry with Noah Lyles with reference to the 2023 World Championships. An ambitious Kerley back then had challenged Lyles that he would definitely run faster than 9.65s. But Kerley couldn’t even get through to the finals, while Lyles went on to be the champion in Budapest. Regarding that, Kerley now opened up, saying that Lyles was not on his level.

Fred Kerley also said, “Line it up again right now, [the] pressure [is] different. I’m dealing with more of the stuff than what he is dealing with…I’m telling you, he’s not built like me. I became world champion in a year and a half. People ain’t been on my level. I’m more than special.” So yes, the rivalry is heating up. But Lyles? Oh, he looks unbothered by it. What’s on his plate right now?

What’s your perspective on:

Is Noah Lyles' playful jab at Fred Kerley a sign of confidence or just good fun?

Noah Lyles unfazed by track contemporaries amid vacation

Well, the Grand Slam Track- yes, the one that Noah Lyles chose not to show up for is going on in Kingston. But Noah Lyes? Oh, he is enjoying a silent retreat with his fiancée, Junelle Bromfield. And looks like the two are having the time of their lives. Vibing to music and matching dance moves with Junelle is keeping him way too busy to be affected by any of this.

Recently, as he showed off his dance skills in a pair of red shorts on the beach, Junelle Bromfield praised him with, “My man is a vibe ❤️😂.” Amid this, there’s no time for Grand Slam Track or no time to reply to Kerley’s comment about Team USA that “Everyone is really enemies, you know what I am saying?” But there is time to snub with creative dance reels, right? Well, Noah Lyles never fails to surprise. What do you have to say about this renewed track beef in town?
