Track and Field is no longer a safe place for the athletes. In one of the shocking incidents, a 17-year-old athlete lost his life while participating in a track meet! As per the reports, the horrifying event took place at a high school meet in Frisco, Texas. The victim, Austin Metcalf, was a student at Memorial High. During the meet, Metcalf allegedly asked another athlete from a different school to shift. Apparently, he was sitting in the wrong spot.

This seemed to have infuriated the other athlete. And a fight broke out between the two. Soon, things went out of hand as the other athlete, Karmelo Anthony, took out a knife! To everyone’s horror, Anthony proceeded to plunge the knife right through the heart of Metcalf. As Metcalf thudded to the ground, almost 100 student athletes were shocked to witness the horrific crime unfold in front of their eyes.

While the athletes were safely evacuated, Austin’s brother, who was an identical twin, rushed to help. He desperately tried to stem the blood flow, but everything went in vain. Soon after this incident, Austin’s father, Jeff Metcalf, was informed about the situation. As he stormed into the Kirkendall Stadium, Jeff found his son lying lifeless.

His faith, unwavering even in the face of devastation, guided him through the pain. “God takes care of things. God’s going to take care of me. God’s going to take care of my family.”
