Grant Holloway on the track? Unstoppable. The man has made winning a habit of stacking up titles and setting records like it’s just another day at work. With another dominant victory under his belt, he’s solidified his place. Track and field fans live for athletes like Holloway—consistent, relentless, and always delivering when it matters most. But with dominance comes chatter. And when a fan tried throwing shade at Holloway, one fellow track maestro took no time to show his support. But what did he have to say? Moreover, who is he?

Well, as it happens, when Grant was dealing with the usual chit-chat remarks for the netizens, his compatriots Vernon Norwood and Rai Benjamin were quick to jump to his cause. After all, why shouldn’t they? Holloway is a legend of the sport and deserves better. Vernon L. Norwood had already set the record straight, tweeting, “Since Grant Holloway has been professional, he has shown up to every major championship, competed, and dominated! 🤝🏾🔥”—a fact no one can deny.

Yet, a track and field fan responded with cryptic words, seemingly questioning Holloway’s record. The fan replied, I wouldn’t say every, there was one little competition… nvm.Having the 110m and 60m hurdles in his firm grip, Holloway has been a regular at World Indoor Championships for three years and has always turned out to be the best. Can’t say what the track fan must be thinking or talking about.

Norwood wasted no time shutting it down, clapping back with a blunt, “Man, shut up, lol.” And Norwood wasn’t the only one rallying behind Holloway. Olympic silver medalist Rai Benjamin also stepped in, tweeting, “Grant Holloway, man. Have your flowers. You’re really a fckn legend, man. Congrats, brother.” When your peers—fellow world-class athletes—are giving you your due respect, there’s no room for debate.

Holloway’s consistency and dominance aren’t just numbers on a stat sheet—they’re etched in track and field history. Winning three straight World Indoor Championships in the 60m hurdles is a feat no one—not Allen Johnson, Colin Jackson, or even Dayron Robles—has ever achieved. Holloway now owns the four fastest times in history, with a blistering 7.27 and three more at 7.29.

His latest victory also adds to a dominant U.S. sweep in the 400m medals. But that’s not all. Holloway has been showing his dominance on track for many years now, like his 70th win in 60m.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Grant Holloway the greatest hurdler of all time, or does he still have more to prove?

Have an interesting take?

Grant Holloway has always been a fire on the track.

Grant Holloway’s rise to the top didn’t happen by chance. Back in his college days at the University of Florida, he was already turning heads, racking up eight NCAA titles and shattering a 40-year-old collegiate record in the 110m hurdles with a blistering 12.98 seconds. And let’s not forget—he had a shot at football too, but chose to go all-in on track. Safe to say, that worked out pretty well.

Fast forward to the international stage, and Holloway has been nothing short of dominant. Gold at the 2019 World Championships? Check. Title defense at the 2022 Worlds in Eugene? Done. Olympic silver in Tokyo 2020? Another notch on his belt. The numbers don’t lie—he’s been a force in hurdles for years, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. Kicking off his 2025 track and field season in February at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, Holloway wasted no time setting the tone for the year.

Since then, he has competed in three events, dominating each one while keeping his times razor-sharp. “When you have a major championship on the line and you look back at your resume or someone looks back at your resume, whether it’s tomorrow, a year from now, or 20 years from now, they’re going to realize that at every major championship, Grant Holloway was there. Whenever there was a title on the line, Grant Holloway was there,” Holloway told NBC Sports. But even back in 2022, Holloway had a dream set on what he wanted from his future.

Grant Holloway told Olympics.com after the World Athletics Championships in Oregon, “I want to just rewrite the whole book. I want, when they talk about the greatest of all-time hurdlers, for it to be me. When they talk about 110m hurdles, I want my name to pop up and when they talk about 60-meter hurdles, I want my name to pop up.” That mindset is what keeps him hungry as he eyes another World Championship. So, what’s next? Holloway isn’t just about stacking medals—he’s chasing legacy.

However, in addition to the medals and records, the impact of Holloway reaches far beyond the track. His story from a young talent in Virginia to a world champion is the guideline for hard work and perseverance, which runs a long, controversial story throughout his career. And with every race, every win, and every challenge he faces head-on, he continues to inspire the next generation.
