Another gold strikes the three-time Olympic gold medalist as she puts on the shoes to race under the sun for the first time in 2025.  And this time, it was the Texas sun. Gabby Thomas opened her outdoor season at the Texas Relays (March 26 to 29). Gabby Thomas raced for Team USA and contributed to the team’s 41.74 in the 4×100 gold run. She also took bronze in the 4×400 invitational with a time of 3:26.59.  Two podium finishes for the superstar in her season opener. Perhaps that is why even ATHLOS – Alexis Ohanian’s Women-Only Track & Field League—couldn’t help but pay tribute to the star track and field athlete. And the Olympian just couldn’t hold back her reaction!

“‘Don’t hold back. Be bold. Be brave.’@gabbythomas took her own advice and inspired us all with a huge win to kick off her season 👑 ,” read the caption of ATHLOS’s latest Instagram video that included Gabby Thomas’ childhood, special, and inspiring moments and her voiceover on March 8, 2025. “To the young girls and boys who might be watching, believe in yourself.” The video began by showing a young Gabby with a hat, books, and a violin as well. As more of Thomas’ pictures and videos rolled through the video, so did her voiceover, now talking of dreams. “When I was younger, I had big dreams too. Dreams that often times scared me because they felt like they were too far away. Your dreams, no matter how big they are, are valid.

What better dream than some fans waiting for you for two hours? That is what we were shown next in the video. But what does dreaming big mean? As the reel rolled, we could hear Gabby say, “Dreaming big means stepping outside of your comfort zone. It means working hard even when nobody is watching  and believing in yourself even when it feels hard.” And the next one for her is when she shocked the entire world back in 2023. The video shared the clip from the 2023 USA Track and Field Championships when she defeated Sha’carri Richardson in the 200m. Thomas sprinted to a 21.60 in the final, a personal best, meeting record, and the fastest time of 2023.

The video ended with a very important message from the track and field legend: “And remember, your dreams can inspire others one day. So don’t hold back, be bold, be brave, and dream big.” Gabby herself got emotional after watching the video. “I’m not crying you’re crying 😭,” she commented on the Instagram post. Even Alexis Ohanian replied to the Twitter post of the same video and said, “She’s special!” The former Reddit owner was also cheering for her at the Texas Invitational.

Gabby herself made an Instagram post after the Texas Invitational. Posting her pictures from the event, she captioned, “A little relay action this weekend at #TexasRelays 🙌🏽 Ran a 41.74s 4x100m for a meet record and a solid 4x400m leg in preparation for my 400m race this upcoming weekend.” But the Texas Relays was just the start of her astonishing season. What happened next in the Grand Slam Track during the weekend was just phenomenal.
