If you’re looking for track and field’s most happening power couple, look no further than Christian Coleman and Sha’Carri Richardson. After keeping their romance under wraps for a while, the duo is now fully embracing the spotlight. Come March 15, they showed up together for a special event that took them back to Coleman’s alma mater in Georgia… Back to his core memories of where it all started, running the high school track in nearby Fayetteville at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School! 

March 15 saw Richardson and Coleman showing up at Westlake High School for the 6th Annual Christian Coleman Invitational, an event hosted by Coleman’s foundation. And it was more than just a competition; it was a proving ground for the next wave of track and field stars. Hear it from Westlake coach Jason Cage himself: “Cristian really come out to support everybody. He gives back to the community and kids… One of our visions was to grow it where teams from out of state would come out and compete.” And that’s what has exactly happened this year: The invitational is going nationwide!  

With 40 schools from Georgia, two from Florida, and one from Alabama participating, the meet featured over 1000 student-athletes from across the area, including 7 defending state championship teams. By the end of the competition, the Marietta Blue Devils won the meet overall in the girls’ competition, while host Westlake came out on top in the boys’ side of the meet. But the real magic happened off the track.

On March 18, Coleman shared a heartwarming clip on his Instagram story from the event. In the video, he and his girlfriend, Sha’Carri, were seen signing autographs for the young athletes—two champions giving back, face-to-face with the future of their sport.  Coleman made sure to show his appreciation for Sha’Carri’s inspiring presence, captioning the post: “Keep inspiring the youth & the world 🌍 @itsshacarri 📈 I promise we right behind ya 🖤.” SCR then made sure to give Coleman his due with a heartfelt message as well.

She reshared the post on her IG story with the caption: “You the chosen one 🤞🏽 Thank you for all the things you do for your community! We got you! @_coleman2.” Two champions, one vision: empowering the next generation! Sha’Carri wasn’t the only one showing appreciation for Coleman.

Coleman also showed his appreciation for the support and turnout at the event. He shared an IG story where he can be seen posing with Coach Cage and Westlake Boys Head Coach with the caption, “Great turnout for the CC invitational. Truly motivational to receive so much love and be able to touch the youth in the sport that has given me so much, Already looking forward to next year.”

Coleman had plenty of reasons to be so involved—it was his Invitational, after all. But Sha’Carri? She stayed with him like his shadow—not out of obligation, but out of authentic love for the sport, the community, and, let’s be real, for him. This was yet another display of her relentless support for her boyfriend.

Not to be left behind, Coleman has also time and again expressed his admiration for SCR. On Valentine’s Day, they attended a Katt Williams show and the Olympic gold medalist received a shoutout from Williams. Coleman recorded a video capturing the moment and panned the camera toward Richardson and said, “Sha’Carri, let me tell some you something, god dammit! You make us so moth******* proud. You make us so moth******* proud.” Coleman being SCR’s hypeman is as good as it looks.

Meanwhile, Sha’Carri’s presence spoke volumes and it wasn’t the first time the Olympic silver medalist did that for Coleman.

March 6 was no ordinary day—it was Christian Coleman’s birthday, and of course, Sha’Carri Richardson made sure it was nothing short of unforgettable. Well, the celebration was simple, yet intriguing. 

Coleman sat in front of a cake with two mysterious envelopes resting beside it. Now, what could be in those envelopes? A sweet birthday card? A gift voucher? Nope. It was something far more thrilling—a surprise experience that would leave him soaring. Let’s keep the suspense. The next day, Sha’Carri delivered on the surprise, flooding her Instagram stories with snaps and clips of the grand reveal: A helicopter ride over the city.

As they climbed aboard, Sha’Carri’s excitement was through the roof. She was giggling, snapping photos, and even admitting that her nerves were getting the best of her. Meanwhile, Coleman? Cool as ever—composed, relaxed, almost too calm. His laid-back demeanor was so surprising that it made Sha’Carri post on social media: “Why am I nervous & he not???”

But here’s the thing—his calmness wasn’t indifference. Coleman was soaking it all in, just in his own low-key, smooth style.
