In 400mH, before Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone came into the picture, there was Dalilah Muhammad. Like taking 1st place in the 2016 Rio Olympics 400mH by clocking the American-best time of 53.13 in history.

She went one better on the time at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar. The champion hurdler has had enough podium finishes in her track and field career to earn a sizable chunk of money through prize winnings.

Like in the Rio Olympics, Dalilah Muhammad received $25,000 for her gold win. Then, from the 2019 World Athletics Championship, she earned $60,000. What are the other sources of her wealth: Brand deals, endorsements, and more

Well, Dalilah Muhammad earns around half a million dollars yearly on average from her tie-ups with brands like Nike, OMEGA, Dermalogica, Cheribundi, etc. But this is not where it ends, though. Diversifying their channels of income, she has a sizable presence on Instagram and Twitter, where she earns from sponsored posts and engagements. Her social media post on August 9, 2024, is a paid partnership with Dermalogica, a skincare brand.

Another well-being brand that she has a tie-up with is Cheribundi. It is a brand producing tart cherry juice beverages having anti-inflammatory and other health benefits. Endorsing the health-drink brand for a few years, she has been one of their global brand ambassadors.

Her post from August 8, 2022, read: “Did you know tart cherries are scientifically-proven to reduce muscle soreness, support immunity, reduce inflammation and provide better sleep?”

The post continued, “Consuming up to 16 ounces of @cheribundi daily speeds up strength, recovery and reduces muscle soreness, which is exactly what I need as an athlete.”

While she flaunts her OMEGA watches, she’s a part of another vital partnership, the Togethxr brand, Everyone Watches Women’s Sports.

Advocating for women’s sports, sports leaders like Alex Morgan, Chloe Kim, Sue Bird, and others have founded Togethxr. The objective is to support fellow women athletes in their sports journey, and Dalilah Muhammad is in a partnership with them, endorsing the good work Togethxr is doing. In addition, Dalilah has her own advocacy initiatives, which she leads using the Nike platform, her most striking sponsorship deal.

It’s a partnership she has had since 2013. And this deal goes beyond her footwear and apparel needs. Nike’s Equality Campaign of 2017 saw her join hands with Serena Williams, Megan Rapinoe, LeBron James, and many other star athletes to raise awareness about fostering equality and tolerance on and off the playing field.
