Back in 2023, a highly controversial international sporting event was proposed. The Enhanced Games. It permitted the usage of prohibited substances for athletes to achieve superior performances. The idea did not sit well with many. But as per the latest update, there seems to have been a development in the organization of this event. Here are the details of how it now involves Donald Trump Jr.
The Enhanced Games, widely labeled by critics as the ‘Steroid Olympics’ could be held by the end of 2025 or in early 2026, as reported by Sportico. But for that to happen, a crucial aspect is the finance. However, there seems to have been a major development on that end. As per sources, the Games seems to have bagged an investor, and that’s none other than a known American name, Donald Trump Jr.
As reported by The New York Post via an exclusive article on February 17, the Enhanced Games seems to have bagged a ‘double-digit’ million-dollar cash investment from investors led by Donald Trump Jr. As per the article, the fundraising round wrapped up last week, as informed by Australian businessman Aron D’Souza, president of the Enhanced Games.

While The Post reports the revelation that President Donald Trump’s eldest son has now infused money for this event, the article also notes that the exact amount remains unknown and unrevealed by Aron D’Souza. All that is announced is, “Donald Trump Jr and Partners join the mission to build superhumanity” as reported by the official Enhanced Games website.

It was also reported by The Post that Donald Trump Jr. isn’t the only investor, the Enhanced Games have previously received financial support from names like American entrepreneur and venture capitalist Peter Thiel and German billionaire Christian Angermayer. Well, as per sources, the event is slated to include competition in sports like track and field, swimming, weightlifting, gymnastics, and combat sports. Thus, the expanse of the Enhanced Games events is quite broad, and hence financial backing seems to be an important part.
However, this announcement came shortly after, precisely 12 days after President Donald Trump made a different crucial decision regarding an athlete. After the World Aquatics and Court of Arbitration of Sport had previously ruled against her plea to allow her to compete in the female category, trans swimmer Lia Thomas’ competitive hopes were dashed. But on February 5, 2025, things took another turn. President Donald Trump signed an executive order, which prohibited any transgender athlete from participating in women’s sports.

The executive order also stated that strict actions shall be taken against the schools that fail to adhere to the new order. Apart from all that, now, this major Enhanced Games investment opens a financial path. But choosing it still looks subjective.
After Donald Trump’s Move, Trump Jr’s step drives major financial change
As had been previously announced, Enhanced Games is all for athlete compensation. Their website remarked, “Athletes who break current world records will receive a $250,000 world record bonus, and a bonus of $1,000,000 for breaking the 50m Freestyle Swimming and 100m Sprint world record.” They also announced that 100% of the athletes participating in the financial games would receive compensation.

But what does it mean for the athletes? Firstly, this perhaps opens up ways for the participant athletes to earn a substantial sum of money. According to the Enhanced Games’ official website, 59% of the U.S. Olympians make less than $USD 25,000 a year. Also, 58% of elite athletes across the globe are financially unstable. Thus, this prize money that they are offering will be a means to take home a huge sum. The only thing at stake here seems to be that the athlete will have to be okay with using banned substances.
This is a never-seen-before development in the world of athletics. We are keeping an eye out for all the fresh details as they occur, and while we are at it, we will surely keep you posted too!
