Tokyo Olympics 2020 bronze medalist Molly Seidel became only the third American woman to win an Olympic medal in the marathon event. Her achievement was celebrated widely when she came back home. Athletes often utilize their Olympic popularity and fame to give back to society. Their contribution can come in various forms, from auctioning their medals, to speaking out about injustices, or participating in charity events.
Molly Seidel also decided to help people by doing something she is good at, running! Seidel ran at the Falmouth Road Race to raise money for children suffering from cancer.

The 49th annual ASICS Falmouth Road Race took place on the 5th of August 2021. It is one of the premier running events in the USA in the summer. The race has always been a promoter of health, wellness, and pride in the community.
American star Molly Seidel recently grabbed the Olympic bronze medal at the mega-event in the marathon. Just a few weeks after her Olympic achievement, she announced that she will run at the Falmouth Road Race.
However, her aim was not to win, but rather a noble one. Molly ran to raise money for Tommy’s Place, a vacation home for children fighting cancer. The Olympic star served as the starter of the race.
Interestingly, she had a unique plan to raise money. Molly was the last person to start the race, and she had decided that every person she crosses will be counted as a dollar. The race organizers will donate the total number, converting it into dollars for Tommy’s Place.

And one last (I think) update: @TommysPlace_ founder Tim O'Connell has matched the race's donation, so Molly Seidel's run at today's Falmouth Road Race raised $19,044 to support kids with cancer!
