Sha?Carri Richardson, as many would already know, was left out of the Tokyo Olympics this year. The 100m favorite was serving a one-month ban after testing positive for marijuana following the Track and Field trials held in Eugene, Oregon.?

Now, she will get a chance to prove herself at Nike?s Prefontaine Classic, in which she will be running alongside Jamaica?s Elaine Thompson-Herah and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, who won gold and silver in the women?s 100m at Tokyo respectively.

Richardson can finally show the fans how she would have faired alongside these speedsters and has a lot to prove heading into the race. Fans who backed her amidst the suspension are eager to see her medal in the race, and although the gold medal may be a reach, she is set to give the Jamaicans competition.?

In a recent post on Twitter, USA?s Raven Saunders, who won silver in Women?s shot put at the Tokyo Olympics, hinted support towards Sha?Carri in the race.

The question has been looming ever since the race lineup was announced- How will Sha?Carri Richardson fare against Shelly-Ann and Elaine Thompson. The Jamaicans have proven themselves time and again on the tracks while Richardson has not been at an Olympic game yet.

Sha’Carri Richardson can, in fact, trouble the Jamaicans

Elaine Thompson-Herah broke the Olympic record with a timing of 10.61 seconds, winning gold in the women?s 100m. She was followed by Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce at 10.74 seconds and Shericka Jackson at 10.76 seconds.?

The three have never competed together before, but if they do, Shelly-Ann will have to watch her stride. Richardson on the other hand will have to bring her A-game to the Prefontaine Classic. If she does manage to medal, it would be a major statement.
