The Japanese government has been praised in its effort to continue with the Tokyo Olympics through the dangers of the pandemic and persevering to safely carry out events in the face of not only COVID-19 but also popular push-back from part of its own populace.?
The hosting of the Games without spectators, however, is something Piers Morgan just cannot get past. The British journalist and media figure took to Twitter to blast the Olympics for its half-hearted nature, much to the outrage of fans and other sportspersons alike.?
?Nobody cares about these covid-ravaged Olympics,? he wrote. ?I feel incredibly sorry for all the athletes still trying to live their Olympic dream, but that is the harsh reality. And the great champions like Adam Peaty know it. It should have been either further postponed or cancelled.?

?Shocking and shameful that male divers have to wear such overtly sexualising skimpy briefs at the Olympics,? he wrote. ?I demand full-body unitards to protect and respect their dignity.?
