Olympic powerhouse USA topped the medal tally at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Team USA has also been dominating the medal tally in the Paralympics over the years since its start in 1960.
Star swimmer Katie Ledecky fared well at the mega-event and is one of the fastest female swimmers in the world. After the Olympians, the Paralympians have been aiming for the podium finishes in Tokyo.

After a successful Tokyo Olympics 2020, all eyes are on the Paralympians. The games started on 24 August and will reach the closing ceremony on the 5th of September 2021.
Olympic legends have been praising the courage and strength of the Paralympians. The stories of these athletes are indeed inspiring for all, including the Olympians.
USA’s swimming star Katie Ledecky also took a moment to appreciate the real-life heroes. Ledecky posted an appreciation tweet for the Team USA at the Paralympics. She even sent a message for them to enjoy the journey.

Chuck Aoki and Melissa Stockwell were the flag bearers for the Team USA at the Paralympics. Olympic legends Allyson Felix and Usain Bolt also sent messages of support to the Paralympians.
China leading the medal tally at the Paralympics
The Paralympics kick-started on the 24th of August, and China has been leading the medal tally. Team China has clinched 53 medals to date, out of which 21 are gold, 13 silver, and 19 bronze.

Great Britain is in the second position with 37 medals followed by RPC with 31 medals. Team USA is currently in the fourth position with 18 medals, out of which 9 are gold.
Notably, Belarus’s Ihar Boki has clinched three gold medals in swimming, topping the individual medal tally. Whereas, Chinese fencer Tan Shumei has also grabbed three gold medals.

Although team China has successfully taken a very strong lead, a lot of matches are still left. At Tokyo Olympics, the USA pipped over China on the last day. Will team USA make its way to the top or China will continue its domination, only time will tell.
