Brooklyn Moors’s floor routines are so beautiful, but you don’t have to take our word for it. Her performance at the 2017 FIG World Championships earned her the Longines Prize for Elegance. She has always been an artist in the floor event, using her emotions and expressions to compose a beautiful story that enchants the audience. Watching Brooklyn’s floor routine can fill your heart with pure joy and bliss.

Even legendary gymnast Kathy Johnson Clarke spoke highly of Brooklyn Moors for making UCLA Gymnastics stand out and doing justice to ‘artistic’ gymnastics. Clake’s words perfectly describe what floor routine means to Brooklyn – “…The way you make people feel as you elevate the room by telling a story with perfectly nuanced movement, human emotion, exquisite elegance, execution and precision.” As this 24-year-old enthralls us with her creativity, let’s get to know more about the gymnast, and who her parents are.

Who is Brooklyn Moors’s father?

Brooklyn’s father is Christopher Moors. Not much is known about him, as there is barely anything available online. It seems like Brooklyn’s father is quite a private person who tries to stay away from the limelight. And this is despite being the co-founder of one of the most popular gymnastics centers in Canada. Christopher started the Dynamo Gymnastics along with his wife, and with help from Soviet Union coach Elvira Saadi.

Dynamo Gymnastics has been responsible for producing many successful gymnasts like Emma Spence, and Christopher Moors’ own 2 daughters – Victoria Moors and Brooklyn Moors. In fact, Victoria was an Olympian in 2012 and after she retired in 2015, she became a coach at Dynamo. And by then, Victoria’s younger sister, Brooklyn, joined Dynamo as a budding gymnast with a lot of promise.

It was a thriving gymnastics center in Cambridge, Ontario, as Christopher and his wife tried to ensure her daughters and every gymnast who came to Dynamo got the best teachings. And as we speak of nurturing influence, we have to talk about Brooklyn’s mother.

Who is Brooklyn Moors’s mother?

Brooklyn’s mother is Lisa Rutledge, who co-founded Dynamo Gymnastics with her husband. Lisa and Christopher controlled the administrative and day-to-day operations of the center, staying close to the ground to make sure everything was running fine. Running a gymnastics center needs a lot of effort and looking after, that’s why Brooklyn’s family has always had their hands full.

As Brooklyn said to Olympics.com in May 2021, “My family obviously has been busy our entire lives because my sister was always training. We’ve never, ever spent time as a family, pretty much because we’re always busy.” But COVID got them together for a while, and the family was able to reconnect all over again: “I was able to kind of stay home with them and just enjoy doing nothing, which I’ve never done.

And it came just on the heels of Cristopher’s and Lisa’s decision to sell their share of Dynamo Gymnastics around 2019. Free of the duties of running a gymnastics center, they put their focus on raising their kids and supporting Victoria’s and Brooklyn’s dreams.

Although we don’t know anything about Brooklyn’s parents’ nationality, we do know Brooklyn Moor is Canadian. In fact, she was the first Canadian to win the Longines Prize for Elegance. When she finished 5th in the floor event at the 2017 World Championships, it became the best-ever performance by a Canadian. And at UCLA, she has been one of the top performers, and not just through scores but also by creating beautiful pieces of art on the mat.
