Back in September 2024, it was hinted that Simone Biles was learning something new. “Learned another new thing,” read her post. But was it? Well, back when the 2024 Gold Over America tour was just kicking in, she was grasping a new skill on the balance team. She was seen upside down on the balance beam, facing inward while pulling off a new move. In the background, Skye Blakely could also be seen managing to do something intricate herself. Since then, it has been six months. And now we know what the GOAT was learning.

Well, Simone Biles can do it all. She can romp in 11 Olympic medals, the most an American gymnast ever has. But she can also walk down the MET red carpet as she recently did, with utmost grace. She can even tap into her businesswoman side, nailing the deals with Nike, Visa, Uber Eats, Athleta, and others. But one thing we haven’t seen her excel in is the chef space. Yes, this was the one thing partially missing from her resume, but not anymore!

On February 8, 2025, Simone Biles added an Instagram story showing off an unexpected skill that no one expected. The 11x Olympic medalist gymnast was seen in the kitchen, showing off her cooking skills! Yes, you read that right. As she gently worked the ladle through her delicious-looking homemade chicken noodle soup, Simone Biles thanked Rachel B. Taylor, who is a caterer and a content creator, for this ‘easy’ recipe.

And how could Biles not show off her talent? No wonder she added a note with the story, “I’m getting good @ this whole cooking thang okaaaayyyyy” Well, we knew that Simone Biles is an absolute foodie and loves a good Chicago-style deep-dish pizza. And fries? Those are her self-admitted favorites But she enjoys an occasional cooking session too. Well, that’s not exactly a revelation.

Back in August 2024, Simone Biles had told Bustle that one of her absolute favorite dishes to cook was the Atlanta-inspired lemon pepper salmon with rice and vegetables. And Jonathan Owens loves this trait about Biles. When the two spoke to Sports Illustrated in January, when Simone Biles was announced the Sportsperson of the Year, they got asked ‘a couple of questions.’ And in his reply to ‘Who is the better cook,’ Jonathan Ownes mentioned, “I’ve been coming home. The house been smelling great. I ain’t gonna lie, my lady, she holding it down.”

Well, it’s clear: Simone Biles has picked up a new skill and she’s excelling in it. Just like she does in most of her endeavors in life. But let’s pause away from all the chores for a bit as it is Valentine’s month and Jonathan Owens has already started spoiling his wife with fragrant tokens of love.

It’s Valentine’s time for Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens

Valentine’s Day is not just another day of love for this star sports couple; it’s a special occasion. Why? For those who aren’t aware, it was the day the two became engaged two years ago. I can’t believe that it’s been 2 years since this amazing day; man does time fly.”
