Simone Biles just cannot be kept away from gymnastics action. After having a hectic 2024, Biles has been looking forward to spending more quality time with beau, Jonathan Owens. And surely enough, the couple has been spotted lost in each other in New York City and now in Switzerland. However, that did not mean that she would be completely ditching the recent updates going on in the gymnastics realm. And especially, when it involves Biles’ ex-coach Cecile Landi. Landi had been coaching Biles for a long time at the WCC. However, ahead of the Paris games, Landi announced her decision to part ways with the World Champions Center.
Such a decision drew a large amount of controversy and criticism from the gymnastics realm. While Landi wanted to move on and take on fresh challenges, she got the support of none other than her 5-star pupil, Biles. Reacting to her new role of being the assistant coach of Georgia, the 7x Olympic gold medalist stated, “I’m so happy for you. You need to go.” She further stated, “I can’t think of a more deserving person…” And now, she is continuing her support for her ex-coach as she embarks on her NCAA journey.
In a recent update posted by Simone Biles on her Instagram story dated January 24, 2025, the gymnastics GOAT could be spotted glued to her television screen. And what was she watching? Well, Biles was hooked on supporting Georgia gymnastics. As they move forward in their quest to try and win the NCAA title, there is one thing for sure. Cecile Landi and the GymDogs will have Biles cheering for them throughout the season. And Biles has already proved to be a lucky charm for the GymDogs.

Not only did Biles speak of supporting Georgia but she also attended their season debut on home turf. While Landi and her team faltered initially at the Denver Quad Meet, in front of Biles and Owens, they delivered a superstar performance on January 17, 2025. And Biles could not be more excited to see Landi doing wonders in the NCAA. Biles and Landi sat down for a talk which was posted by the Georgia Gymnastics on their Instagram page on January 23, 2025.
Shedding light on how she feels about Landi managing the GymDogs, Biles stated, “Elite gymnastics can be so stressful and Cecile is so kind-hearted, so to see her give that love to other gymnasts, especially in collegiate gymnastics, its super exciting.” And this was not all. In a recent interaction with the Athens-Banner Herald on January 16, 2025, Biles praised the true-spirited and compassionate nature of Cecile Landi. She mentioned how Landi cared immensely about her students as if they were her own children. Biles further made her excitement known by saying, “I’m so excited to see Cecile take on this role….. It’s way different than elite gymnastics, but she deserves this amazing opportunity after all the years of hard work she’s put in!” Surely, Biles’ passion for gymnastics is admirable to say the least. However, at the moment, the Olympic legend marked an end to a romantic getaway with the love of her life, Jonathan Owens.
Simone Biles’ vacation in Switzerland comes to an end
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. And this is exactly the philosophy Biles seems to be following. After having back-to-back engagements at the Paris Olympics and the Gold Over America tour, Biles was itching to spend some quality time with Jonathan Owens. After all, ever since they got married, the duo had gone long distance. Finally, Owens and Biles found some time and set out for their romantic getaway in the postcard country of Switzerland.

Biles recently posted a picture of her passport along with Jonathan Owens last week on her Instagram story. And while the plane landed, the 11x Olympic medalist revealed the location posting, “Good Morning, Switzerland!” And the duo immediately went into tourist mode. She posted Owens with a camera around his neck followed by a scenic picture of a couple of elderly men playing chess on the streets.
Owens and Biles had a blast in Switzerland until she posted, “bye Switzerland” on her Instagram story on January 23, 2025. And their getaway comes to an end, Biles has seemingly dived right back into what she loves the most- gymnastics. However this time, she is on a cheering spree rather than donning the leotard herself.
