She has an unwavering liking for tropical places, and if she ever could make a list of her honeymoon destinations, one such place would get the top position. She made it clear again and again. The statement mentioned earlier came from her last year in an interview given to Olympics.com. 

In that exchange, Simone cast her vote for the French Polynesian island. However, it felt like she was just expressing her desire in front of her fans. At that time, she didn’t have the chance to pursue that desire. The reason? Both she and her husband, Jonathan Owens, had busy schedules. In February last year (when Biles gave that interview), she was scheduled to attend a national gymnastics camp. Meanwhile, Jonathan was concluding the NFL season. The mismatches in their schedules left them with no opportunity to go on their honeymoon. And don’t forget! The couple got married on April 22, 2023.

Still, they could not embark on their honeymoon for nearly two years. But now it appears that the long wait is finally coming to an end. Are there any noteworthy updates?

On February 15, precisely three years following their engagement announcement, the couple boarded a flight. And Simone posted two photos in her Instagram story to provide an update. In one photo, she was pictured with her husband in their apartment, with luggage in tow, all prepared to embark on their journey. She captioned the snap with words like, “off to our honeymoon… 2 years later.” The next story showcased a snap taken from the flight voyaging through the white cloud. In the meantime, JO didn’t let go of the chance. He shared his wife’s snap in his Instagram story with a beautiful line, “On the road agaaaain.” Also, Simone shared exclusive photos from the Valentine’s Day celebration on her feed to tease her fans. Our guess is it should be Bora Bora! Remember the hint of the French Polynesian island shared earlier? It’s related to that only. But how could we be so sure about it? In that interaction, Simone said, “We would really love to go to Bora Bora and just relax there.” Another one came in 2022, right after she got engaged with Owens. It was about a continent. “I feel like two to three weeks in Europe,” the seven-time Olympic champion said while opening up about her choices. The comments were made in the early months of 2024, and Simone had to wait several additional months to achieve her desire. In January of this year, Simone and Jonathan Owens traveled to Switzerland to enjoy their time off.

Two years into their marriage, the holiday trip must have given them a special chance to spend time together. As expected, the veteran gymnast’s emotions were stirred. In an attempt to share the depth of it, overjoyed Simone posted, “Good Morning Switzerland.” She accompanied the good wish with a scenic picture of Switzerland. With Jonathan, she must have loved every bit of it, enjoying her time strolling on the streets without caring for the public’s eyes or comments.
