“Liv’s knee is still an issue. It isn’t a stress fracture, but it is a stress reaction on her kneecap.” LSU head coach announced on 17th February to clear things over LSU’s star’s absence. Olivia Dunne’s knee is not letting it easily on her. The LSU gymnast had already missed the last three meets because of this injury, and now a financial hit to her name.
Livvy Dunne has taken a hundred-thousand-dollar hit on her NIL. Liv, who if you are unaware is one the biggest names in gymnastics, and probably even the face of the sport as of now, is the only gymnast to be in the top 100 of On3 NIL valuations. The 22-year-old who was once number 2 in the rankings has now dropped to 4th with $4.1 million. On the brighter side still the only gymnast and woman in the top 5.
Livvy is one of the most influential gymnasts who is still swimming in the bars, the 8 million followers on TikTok and the 5.4 million on Instagram make her the most followed NCAA athlete. Of course, brands are desperate to collaborate with her. The social media personality signed her last deal with W, a men’s care brand founded by Jake Paul in October 2024, when she posted a video on her Instagram announcing the partnership.

As of the top 100 of On3 NIL valuations, Olivia currently falls behind the Texas Longhorns’ quarterback, Arch Manning (No.1,$6.5M); Duke Blue Devils Guard’s Cooper Flagg (No.2, $4.8M) and yet another quarterback, one Georgian bulldog, Carson Beck(N0.3, $4.3M).

Olivia Dunne was seen last swinging against the Arkansas ever since then the fans of LSU’s gymnastics team and the team itself are eagerly waiting for the comeback of their favorite gymnast as the injury trouble deepens.
Injury Crisis at LSU with Liv’s return uncertain
It was the meet against Missouri when the questions were raised over Liv’s missing the ultimate team, the gymnast then went on to miss the meets against Alabama, and Number # 1, Oklahoma. The question did not die until head coach Jay Clark announced the knee injury. Now the fans are hopeful that the star might recover soon and get back on the bars and the floor, but much to their disappointment, her return remains a mystery. Speaking over the possibility of her coming back, Jay told the advocate, “The only answer for that is rest.”

Liv’s absence isn’t the only thing troubling for Jay as well as the Tiger fans. Chase Brook injured herself on the floor in the meet against Oklahoma and now, thanks to her Achilles injury, the coach says “Yeah, she’s done. She will be out indefinitely.” Haleigh Bryant is recovering from her UCL tear back in 2024, but given the severity of the injury, it’s a long process.
Things are not going very well for the LSU gymnastics and especially for Liv. An injured knee from god knows what…the hundred thousand NIL hit, but the star has had injuries before and she has the social media backing to bounce back from both the setbacks. The question is…how long?
