Posting several pictures of the duo together, Chiles wrote on her Instagram story, “Happy birthday to one of the most amazing people in my life!! Twin I love you so much and miss you!! Hope today treats you well- love you.” Meanwhile, Biles too, was spotted in her usual element. The gymnastics GOAT could be seen enjoying with her sister, Adria Biles. 

Biles also reunited with her beau, Jonathan Owens, as the duo went “boot shopping,” according to one of Biles’ Instagram stories. This was a surprise reunion as the duo had been on a vacation spree recently. After spending quality time together in NYC, Miami, and Switzerland, Biles and Owens finally embarked on their much-awaited honeymoon. Soaking in the serenity of mother nature and the excitement of the wilderness, the power couple enjoyed it to the fullest in South Africa. 

Coming back to Chiles and Biles’ bonding, the 28-year-old recently took a strong stand against all the hate comments Chiles was getting. After winning the bronze medal in Paris, Jordan Chiles was stripped of her medal. While this had a negative mental impact, several online fans too, started to throw shade at Chiles. As a result, the Olympic gold medalist shut her inside her house and went into depression. This was when Simone Biles stepped up. 

Biles immediately had a talk with Chiles to clear her mind from self-doubt. The gymnastics GOAT also made a public statement in favor of Biles regarding the bronze medal controversy. Jordan Chiles has never shied away from standing up for her bestie, and now she’s setting the record straight about a painful chapter in Biles’ career. In her memoir I’m That Girl: Living the Power of My Dreams, Chiles exposes the harsh reality Biles endured after her historic all-around win at the 2013 World Championships. And it all stemmed from a racially charged comment by Italian gymnast Carlotta Ferlito.

Ferlito, after failing to medal herself, made a controversial remark that cut deep. “I told Vane (Ferrari) that next time we’ll have our skin black also so we can win, too,” Ferlito said. Her comments implied that Biles’ success was tied to her race rather than her talent. The situation escalated when Ferlito’s coach defended her by claiming that “physical attributes favor the blacks in gymnastics,” even suggesting that this is why “we don’t see people of color swimming.” 

For Biles, who had just become the first Black gymnast to win an all-around title at Worlds, the fallout was both shocking and heartbreaking. Chiles didn’t hold back in her book, firing back at the outdated mindset that questioned Biles’ legitimacy. Highlighting the frustration over how gymnasts of color have been unfairly scrutinized, Jordan immediately wrote, “The sport is now ugly-looking! ZERO beauty, it’s all acrobatics! I so miss the 80s, 90s & early 2000s era.” 

Even Valeri Liukin, a key figure in the gymnastics world, chimed in on the matter, stating that modern gymnastics “is inclined towards power and strength more than artistry and finesse.” Jordan Chiles’ revelation sheds light on the harsh reality of what Biles faced early in her career. And it also brings out why their bond remains unbreakable even today.
