It began on January 14, but Jordan Chiles’s journey to dominance started long before that. From the moment she first set foot in Pauley Pavilion, there was a sense that something special was unfolding. That night, she proved it. A near-perfect 9.975 on the floor—her signature event—showcased the same charisma and power that once helped Team USA to Olympic gold. A 9.925 on the vault, and a 9.850 on bars. Wonder what we are talking about? That was the night she won her first Big Ten Gymnast of the Week honor. But Chiles didn’t stop there. Week after week, she delivered, pushing past limits, and refusing to settle. And now? Fast forward to March. American might have added another amidst her debut memoir: ‘I’m That Girl’ is making waves!

Chiles delivered yet another stellar performance that propelled UCLA to its first-ever Big Ten regular-season championship. The Bruins overcame shaky landings to secure three wins against Nebraska, Ohio State, and Rutgers, finishing with a flawless 9-0 conference record. Jordan Chiles dominated, clinching the all-around title with a 39.550, a 9.950 on uneven bars, and another 9.950 on the floor, which was her eighth consecutive floor victory. This earned Jordan Chiles’ the 5th Big Ten Gymnast of the Week honor!

Jordan Chiles didn’t just claim the Big Ten Gymnast of the Week honor—she made it hers. After her first honors on January 14, she made her Big Ten debut unforgettable, scoring a perfect 10 on uneven bars and becoming just the sixth gymnast in UCLA history to record nine career perfect 10s after her bingo in Maryland. And that? It earned her 2nd consecutive Gymnasts of the week honors.

By Feb. 6, she had led the Bruins to a national-best 49.800 on the floor.

Appearing on Good Morning America, Chiles explained why she felt the need to write this memoir: “People can say a lot of things about you and create a story, but why not tell your story the right way?” She credits her father for inspiring her to put her journey into words, recalling his advice: “Every lesson that I learned would be in a book one day.”

Beyond competition, Chiles has embraced a new chapter as a student-athlete at UCLA, where she continues to find joy in the sport. “I can only control what I can do with myself,” she said, emphasizing her focus on personal growth and future opportunities.
