Jordan Chiles is back on the mats. And this time, no heartbreak follows! As the world already knows, soon after Chiles was on the iconic all-black podium with Simone Biles and Rebeca Andrade, it was heartbreak that followed. The Bronze medal that Chiles had won was taken away from her, with her position dropping to fifth. It was tough, but like a true gymnast, Chiles has gotten up from the fall! This time she is conquering the NCAA mats.
Chiles returned to her team at UCLA Bruins for the 2024-25 season. And the Bruins went up against Maryland! The Bruins created history as they went on to earn a spot at their first-ever Big Ten Conference as they went on to win 197.550-194.850, against Maryland. The world saw Frida Esparza taking a 9.900, while Macy McGowan got a 9.850 on uneven bars. And Chiles?

Chiles at the 2024 Paris Olympics might have had to fight for the top spot. But this time? Well, there is absolutely no debate about it. Jordan Chiles went on to get the Bruins’ first perfect 10 of the season on uneven bars. And what’s more exciting? She did it in her very first rotation. Soon after, Chiles boldly spoke to Big+ TV and went on to say, “I was just very, very proud of myself. It’s a new bar routine for me.”
That’s right, folks, Jordan Chiles did not just get the perfect 10. With only a month to put together new routines, she didn’t hesitate “playing around” with her skills. And she had a reason to do it all! No, it is not just the Olympic fall. “I just wanted to be able to hit it for my team and just stay positive, keep pushing forward,” she added. While Chiles may have done it for the team, she sure did great for herself, too.

Jordan Chiles went on to win the all-around in her first all-around turn of the year, scoring 39.500! So how exactly did that happen? Well, for starters, uneven bars were not the only event Chiles participated in. She was also seen participating in floor exercise, where she went on to score 9.950. It looks like Chiles taking “some skills out” is clearly working. However, that was not the case on the vault.

During the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad meet, Chiles went on to score 9.925. The latest meet while getting her a perfect score has disrupted her consistency. At the recent meet, Jordan Chiles had a mistimed landing. She went on to fumble her Yurchenko one-and-a-half and scored 9.200. However, it is a small misstep in the grand scheme of UCLA Bruins. Next up the Bruins go up against Illinois on January 25th. And the world is surely watching Chiles!
