Jade Carey has a lot going on right now! She’s a finalist for the AAI Award, just dropped a career-best 39.925 with perfect 10s on beam and floor, and, oh yeah, she made a big personal announcement. The three-time Olympic medalist introduced the world to her girlfriend, Aimee Sinacola, in a sweet Instagram post! But while fans celebrate her big moments on and off the mat, there’s one burning question—will she push for LA28? Carey has spoken up!

Jade Carey isn’t ruling anything out just yet, and with gymnasts competing well into their mid-to-late 20s, the question of longevity in the sport has never been more relevant. When asked about the possibility of pushing for LA28 on Beaver Sports Podcast, the three-time Olympic medalist didn’t commit, but she didn’t shut the door either.

I don’t really know yet,” she admitted. “Right now, kind of still gonna see where this season ends and kind of where I’m at.” It’s not a yes, but it’s not a no. Her performance last weekend proves she’s still at her peak. In front of a record crowd of 9,042 at Gill Coliseum, Carey delivered a career-best 39.925 all-around score, just 0.075 away from perfection. She nailed two perfect 10s on beam and floor, leading Oregon State to a dominant 197.700 win over Air Force. Only one college gymnast Georgia’s Karin Lichey in 1996 has ever recorded a perfect 40.00, and Carey came closer to history.

So, why is she leaving the door open for another Olympic run? Because the sport is evolving. “It’s been awesome to see that age level change… if you’re still feeling good and wanna do what you love, it doesn’t matter what age you are.” Gymnastics is no longer just a teen and early 20s athlete’s game and Carey sees the shift. For now, Carey is focused on the NCAA postseason. Oregon State will compete at home one last time this week before the NCAA Gymnastics Selection Show on March 24 determines their regional fate.

While Carey is gearing up for the NCAA postseason, she also took a moment to share a personal update, introducing the world to her girlfriend.
