Another day, another gymnastics injury news. With each passing day, it seems that the gymnastics mat is becoming a haunting mat. Be it women’s gymnastics or men’s, injuries are not stopping and are causing concerns over the safety of gymnasts. Now, a Japanese male gymnast has suffered an Achilles injury. The thing to notice is that all of them suffered Achilles injuries. Is it just a coincidence, or is there more to it?

The year has already seen the likes of Russian gymnast Viktoria Listunova and English-American gymnast Charlotte Booth suffer injuries. Both are in recovery mode but things have gone yet worse. 2023 World Cup gold medalist Yuya Kamoto shared this heartbreaking incident with his fans through an Instagram post.

It happened on February 18, when he got her Achilles ruptured during practice sessions. And it was not just a small injury or swelling or something, but Yuya has to go through surgery and is now in recovery mode at home. The Japanese elite gymnast is grateful for each and every one who has supported him throughout.

The caption of Yuya’s post reads, “I am very grateful to my coach, trainer, and doctors at the hospital for their prompt response. I am supported by many people around me, and their kind words have helped me to calm down.” As we all know, it’s not just the body; our mental health also needs to be taken care of while suffering such injuries. So does Kamoto need it.

Furthermore, Yuya is now focusing on rehabilitation. “There are many difficult circumstances and there are many worries about whether I can do well in my future activities, but I would appreciate your support! Thank you in advance 🙆 ♂️,” he further added.

The 30-year-old exercises for gymnastics technique in the afternoon after doing interval training for about fifty minutes in the morning. But now he has to be in bed for some time for better recovery. Surely, he will miss his training sessions; nonetheless, his fans are rooting for him and pouring all their love and blessings for a fast recovery.

Japanese gymnast Yuya Kamoto has been a true warrior on the mat, and even in the face of adversity, his resilience shines through. His fans admire him and feel the pain as they see him injured. “Ehhh 😱, that looks painful… You’re the same age as me, but you’re an active athlete; that’s amazing,” one fan expressed, acknowledging the immense dedication it takes to be an elite gymnast.
