“I’ve been like, ‘OK, I can’t control what’s happening on the outside. I can only control what my truth is.”  Jordan Chiles was put through the wringer last year after her bronze win became a full-fledged controversy. Yes, she’d won the team gold too. Yet agony and bitterness seemed to have taken center stage after the Olympic floor medal fiasco, leaving her having a “very very difficult time.” But amidst that, Chiles did indulge in some girl therapy. Yes, we now know she treated herself with a special something, and honestly, the price tag may have been eye-popping, but she truly deserved it after that roller coaster. Curious to know what it was?

Well, it’s no secret that Jordan Chiles loves all things fancy. We’ve seen her pull off dramatic art on her inches-long nails before. And her makeup routine? A whopping 26-step regime! But that’s not it. She barely steps out without her accessories. After all, they are meant to complete one’s look. Even in Paris, Chiles stepped on the mats knowing she couldn’t carry the fancy stuff with her. But hey, she could have it on her right? Well, no wonder she showed up with fancy gold grills on her teeth. But soon, she took it a step further, indulging in one extravagant purchase!

Well, on the March 20 Beyond the Records Podcast, Noah Lyles shot a straightforward question at Chiles: “Have you been able to enjoy the accomplishments that you’ve had in the last year?” One would think the answer must have be an obvious NO. But Jordan Chiles’ response “Yes and no,” gave us brand new insights. She then explained, starting with the yes part. “Yes because I’m starting with the beginning of 24.” Recalling all the happy memories from the year, like the classics, the championships, her birthday, her best friend coming for a visit, and more filled her up with joy. It reminded her of the amazing year she’s had leading up to the Games.

But wait, here comes the no part. Jordan Chiles even mentioned that everything happened so back-to-back that she probably didn’t get to sit back and process and enjoy things as much. “The no is more so cuz I’ve been going, going, going, and going like nonstop through. Whether it was press whether it’s photo shoots whether it’s all those things but I kind of told my team to do that so I could get my brain off of what was happening with um my situation, my own case. So it was just more of you know now I think I can probably be like “Okay I just I just went and bought myself a gift for my Olympics not that long ago,” she said.

Yup, here’s when Chiles happened to have mentioned the gift and a curious Rai Benjamin couldn’t resist asking what it was. And well, that’s when Jordan Chiles spilled the beans, “ I bought myself very first Chanel bag.” Well, as per the image shown in the clip right after that, it looked like Chiles bought a black Chanel Classic 11.12 handbag, which as per the Chanel website costs approximately $969,200. The bag is an all-black cushioned clutch with a gold Chanel logo on the front and black and gold handles.

But we know, this isn’t the only luxury handbag that Jordan Chiles possesses. The world of fashion and gymnastics largely overlapped the last year with American gymnasts, particularly Chiles making an appearance at mega events like the New York Fashion Week, GQ Men of the Year party, and MTV VMAs, etc. These and multiple events in the past have featured her carrying luxury bags like the Gucci GG Marmount Mini bag, the Saint Laurent Suede Shearling Le 5 A 7 Hobo, the Prada Crystal Mini Re-edition 2000 bag, the Gucci Ophidia Mini, and a Diesel Charm-D L Denim shoulder bag. So yeah, she’s got quite the collection.

But yes, this particular one was special as it was her first one from the brand Chanel. But hey, she added a second one soon after, almost a replica but with a different color. And unlike the first purchase, this one was a gift.

Jordan Chiles gifted a gold Chanel bag by a GOAT

Yes, you read that right. In November 2024, shortly after wrapping up the Gold Over America Tour, Jordan Chiles uploaded a story posting a an all-gold color version of a similar Chanel classic bag and wrote, “Never had the opportunity to post this but thank you fren!!!!!! The best gift ever @theestallion.” Yes, she was gifted the same by rapper Megan thee Stallion. It is said that perhaps Megan gifted this to Chiles at the MTV Video Music Awards in September.

And well, that very night, Jordan Chiles bagged another fancy accessory as a gift. We’re talking about the bronze medal clock necklace gifted to her by Flavor Flav.
