HBCU has finally found its knight in shining armor. For the entirety of its existence, Fisk had longed for a gymnast who would give their fans the opportunity to jump in the joy of a perfect 10. Sadly, such an elation remained elusive for the University so far. That was until February 8, 2025, when a young 19-year-old decided to create history. Competing in a quad meet at Temple University, this HBCU gymnast made its fans go berserk. After all, this was the first time in the history of Historically Black College or University an athlete has scored a perfect 10 in a gymnastics routine. 

Morgan Price is over the moon at the moment. The junior gymnast looked impeccable while performing on the bars for her team. The routine that has now made its way into the history books came in rotation number 3 for the Fisk Women’s Gymnastics team. Enthralling the crowd, the young gymnast put her clean skills on full display. She also pinpointed a magnificent full-twisting double double-back dismount much to the elation of her team and the crowd. 

While the routine looked as smooth as ever, the entire team waited with bated breaths for the score. And as soon as the scores flashed 10.0, Price was swarmed by her Bulldogs teammates. This was a new career high for Morgan Price. Her previous best score was 9.90. However, there’s more! To put Price’s dominance in the event into perspective, the 19-year-old won all the events except beam to emerge as the clear winner of the event. Her all-around total of 39.500 was almost a point clear of the second-placed gymnast. 

Acknowledging her incredible feat, planetofgymnastics posted, “MORGAN PRICE HISTORY-MAKING 10.00!! first perfect 10.00 for Fisk, first in HBCU history, and only the SECOND perfect score on bars in the nation this season.” This feat adds yet another feather to the already ornamented career of Morgan Price. The 19-year-old has been leading the charge for Fisk University’s HBCU program since its inception back in 2022.  

In her very first year, Price scored 9.90, which was the highest point obtained by an HBCU gymnast at that point of time. And what’s more surprising is that Price’s feat came in week four of her rookie season. Naturally, after such an incredible performance, fans were bound to chime in with their takes. And they did so with a hint of emotion in the comments section. 

Fans get emotional as Morgan Price creates history

As soon as the post went viral, the gymnastics community flocked to make their sentiments known. The win of the team left a gymnastics enthusiast emotional. Watching Morgan Price create history, the fan could not hold back their tears as they took to the comment section and revealed, “I was in the building for this and had tears in my eyes watching them all celebrate.”

The Tennessee-born 19-year-old under the head coach of FISK, Corrinne Tarver scored the perfect 10 on the month of February, which is observed as the commemorative month in the US to honor their Afro-American legacy. Paying perfect homage to the Black History Month, Price’s impeccable performance had this fan exclaiming, “On black history month was the perfect timing 🤩”

Morgan’s sister Kristine Price, who is also a varsity cheer captain, could not stop herself from being the biggest cheerleader for her sister’s win as she proudly boasted, “THAT’S MY SISTER!!!!!!! 😍”

Another netizen seemed to have been waiting for the perfect 10 for the team they have been supporting throughout. Expressing their happiness, the enthusiastic fan commented, “MY HEART CANNOT HANDLE THIS LEVEL OF JOY!!! 🔥” Moreover, Morgan stepped into the gymnastics arena at the tender age of just 2! Thus, the star truly deserved the feather on her cap after all the hard work she had put in. 

Morgan Price already stated that competing for a historically black school has been “an honor” for her. And what better way to pay tribute than to gift the HBCU their first perfect 10 in gymnastics? Elated by the accomplishment, this fan stated, “YES QUEEN! MAKING HISTORY DURING BLACK HISTORY MONTH! My daughter had a meet yesterday and I cannot wait to show her this. God bless you!”

Thus, it is evident that Morgan Price is at the top of her game at the moment. Now it will be interesting to see how she can continue with her good work and keep enthralling her fans in the near future.
