“Big Paul fans.” “hooray for opening day”: Such never-ending cheers echoed through Livvy’s Instagram on March 27. She was all decked up, performing her girlfriend duties, waving from the stands during the Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Miami Marlins Opening Day match. And Livvy did not stop here. Rather, she got two star powers, Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman and Xandra Pohl, a budding house DJ and 2024 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie, to provide all the support for Paul Skenes. And did it work? Well, her presence as well could not stop the Pirates from losing. But Skenes did create history by becoming the youngest Pirate to make an Opening Day start since about 1900. And once again, Olivia is back on the stands!

Olivia Dunne captioned the TikTok she posted today, “go big p!!!” Why is that? The Pittsburgh Pirates sailed their ship to the island of Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles for their next loot. They went up against the LA Dodgers on April 25 to claim a victory on their home grounds. The Pirates won 3-0. And to say it was all an LA crowd in the Dodger Stadium would be an overstatement since Pittsburgh’s pitcher, Paul Skenes’ girlfriend, Olivia Dunne, was in the stands, and she couldn’t contain her excitement over the win.

She posted a moment she recorded in the match where her boyfriend made the pitch against Dodgers number 17, Shohei Ohtani. The rivalry between the two goes back to when, last year, Skenes struck out Ohtani on three consecutive 100+ mph fastballs, but Ohtani responded later with a two-run homer off the pitcher. However, this time around, he couldn’t do much. By the former gymnast, you can see her lifting her hand, and then the camera switches to this point in the match.

Now Ohtani misses the ball, and it’s a strike. The camera comes back to Olivia in the TikTok she posted today, where she first makes an excited face and then makes the gesture of a roaring lion with a paw…or maybe it was a cat. Paul Skenes did roar like a lion in the game today. The man struck out nine over 6 1/3 scoreless innings and also hit his career-high 108 pitches as he outdueled Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who entered on an 18-inning scoreless streak.

This is not the first time Dunne has come out to support her boyfriend in one of his matches. But this comes after she has retired from the sport that was an integral part of her. Something that was a major deal in her upbringing.

Olivia Dunne’s gymnastics career comes to an end

Time flies when you’re having fun. That’s exactly how the past 20 years in this sport have felt,” said Olivia Dunne as the 22-year-old bid her goodbye to gymnastics. On Monday, 21st April, the now former tiger took to her social media to announce she is saying goodbye to gymnastics. With the 2025 NCAA season being over, Olivia Dunne’s collegiate gymnastics career has also come to a full stop, and with no intention to go elite, she has retired from the sport.

The 22-year-old further said, “Gymnastics, you have filled my heart and will always be a part of me. You’ve shaped me into the person I am today, creating memories and sisterhoods that will last a lifetime beyond the sport. You are my first love.” And why would it not be? She began her gymnastics journey at the age of 3 in 2005 at ENA Gymnastics in Paramus, New Jersey. It comes to an end when she is 22 years old, putting an end to a career full of great achievements.

Before coming to LSU, Dunne was a part of the U.S. Junior Women’s National Team. When the first-ever NCAA trophy came to Baton Rouge, Dunne had her fair share in that. Despite facing injuries that limited her participation in the season, she managed to match her career-high score of 9.9 on the floor exercise during the season. The knee injury did cut short her putting on a show in the 2025 season as well, but at least she went with another SEC trophy to her name. What do you think is next for the former gymnast?
