Rise above everything and seize the day! That’s what Jordan Chiles believes on the gymnastics mat. Remember her appearing in the college gymnastics match this season right after suffering from a high fever? Also, she returned to the floor after taking a few minutes break to heal herself from a brutal fall during her warm-up in the vault event. This season the college gymnastics has been witnessing such brave work from her. However, the streak is not over yet. On February 23, the college gymnastics fans saw another instance on the mat where Jordan’s bravado posed bigger.

It was during the No. 2 UCLA gymnastics match against the No. 15 Michigan Wolverines. In the match, the Bruins started their first rotation with an uneven bars routine. However, according to Aaron Doyle, in the routine, Chiles faced a horrific fall. As per the sports journalist, the Olympian fell while completing the piked Tkatchev. Yet she concluded the event scoring 9.150. Her score didn’t find a place in the team’s total. And it seems Chiles took it seriously. And in the next two events, she showed her fireworks on the mat!

First, in rotation 2, Jordan scored a staggering 9.950 in the vault event to keep things in check. In the next event, she took the scorecard higher and finished her floor exercise with a score of 9.975. What a comeback! Please don’t forget about the rotation 4 beam exercise. Jordan left her mark on that event as well!

In the beam event, the two-time Olympian put in 9.850 to wrap up things for the Bruins’ side. The final scoreline displayed it as UCLA-197.550 against Michigan-196.850. Jordan Chiles’ another day in office and UCLA’s another victory in the conference! But wait! The victory over the Wolverines had a special meaning. It was the Bruins’ final conference dual meet this season. Jordan’s team ended the streak with the No. 2 position, and interestingly, Jordan had her name marked in every bit of it.

The brutal fall kept Chiles meek in the first event. But in the subsequent ones, she stood as the prime force. Her 9.975 score on the floor was slightly lower than the topper Emily Lee’s 9.850. Yet it was enough to give the Bruins an edge over the opponent by over half a point. However, brave tales like these are not so rare in Chiles’ stint this season. We can recall two such special incidents once again, though.

Jordan Chiles is ready to ‘do everything’ for the UCLA Bruins

Jordan Chiles has two perfect tens this season. This month, she earned one of those two points in the floor exercise event. The achievement is not short of magical work. But the background story might give you more goosebumps.

On February 1, Jordan put each ounce of her effort on the floor to mark that perfect ten against Michigan State. But after the match, she revealed something more interesting. In the post-match interaction, Jordan said, “Honestly, I just took my mind, step back to 2017 when I’ve had the flu game as if anybody knows.”

She further added, “I was just like, you know what. I’ma forget that in the past I’m here on the team. We’re gonna go out there and do everything that we need to do.” She went on competing, ignoring the harsh effects of her fever, and she put her best foot forward for the Bruins. That’s not all. One week later, a similar situation came into being.

In the match against Washington, Jordan faced a brutal fall during her vault warm-up. She took a few minutes in the locker room to shake the dust off her and came back heavily. In the same vault event, she scored 9.850, deleting each question raised on her ability. On that day as well, the 23-year-old super gymnast competed in all four events. A question on her fitness? Phew! She is all good and will keep the momentum unharmed. Fans, stay sure about that!
