Chelsea have signed Monaco striker Radamel Falcao on a season long loan. The Colombian international who spent last season on loan to Manchester United was keen to remain in the Premier League. After completing his move Falcao was quoted as saying :
“I am very happy to be joining Chelsea and can’t wait to start training and help with our aim of retaining the league title and being successful in Europe.”
Ever since Manchester United opted not to sign Falcao on a permanent basis, he has been linked with a move to Chelsea. Mourinho is known to be a keen admirer and claims to be the person who could bring his career back on track.
“If I can help Falcao reach his level again, I will do it. It hurts me that people in England think that the real Falcao is the one we saw at Manchester United.”
The 29-year-old had a torrid time last season at Old Trafford as he managed to score only four goals in 29 appearances for the Red Devils. If Falcao rediscovers his goalscoring touch, he would become a lethal goalscoring machine for the Blues and could single-handedly lead their title defence this season.
