After her match, Kenin said that she has strived to continue her Australian Open 2020 levels and is happy to have reached the French Open 2020 final. She also spoke about the amount of respect and love she has been getting and wants to maintain that going forward. She said:

“After AO people started to know me. Keeping this level and playing some great tennis now is really special…. I feel people definitely respect me and I’m happy. It’s not easy to get respect. It’s really easy to lose it. People respect me. I’m going to keep it that way.”

Kenin also spoke about her passion and love for the sport. The American frankly said that she hates losing and will try to do everything she can to win. She said, “You really got to, first of all, love the game, you got to love the competition, you got to love to compete. You have to have that feist in you. Like I said in my previous press conferences, losing I really hate and I love winning. I try to do everything I can to win.”

Sofia Kenin will play Iga Swiatek in the Roland Garros final on Saturday. By no means will this be an easy task for Kenin. Swiatek has blazed her way into the final. She has lost only 23 games in the six matches she has played and is yet to drop a set.

Notably, Swiatek thrashed World No. 2 and top seed at French Open 2020 Simona Halep in the fourth round. Many former players believe Swiatek will leave Paris as a Grand Slam champion.

For Kenin, it has been a tough journey to the finals. She often found herself behind in the deciding set, only to force a comeback and win the tie. Already a Grand Slam winner, Kenin’s relentless passion and spirit have helped her overcome her opponents in Paris.
