On Sunday, New England Patriots beat the Jets in a really tight game. After winning this game, the legendary Patriots’ head coach, Bill Belichick, surpassed the Chicago Bears legend George Halas’ record of 324 wins as a head coach; now, Belichick has 325 career wins. Tom Brady, his former pupil, recently talked about Belichick and his great achievement.

Notably, Brady played for Belichick for nearly 20 years, when he was playing for the Patriots. In 2019, the quarterback left the Patriots for the Bucs amidst some rumors of tension between them. Despite that, he showed that he still has massive respect for his former coach.
Tom Brady opens up about Bill Belichick achieving a new milestone
In the weekly podcast, ‘Let’s Go’, the host Jim Gray asked Brady about Belichick’s achievements. In reply, the 7-time Super Bowl champion said, “A remarkable achievement by him. You know, what he has gone through in his coaching career, and as many years as he has been coaching and preparing his team, he is so deserving of this award. He’s been an amazing coach that I got to play for 20 years.“

“He has always teams prepared, he works incredibly hard and he is incredibly deserving of all the accolades that go along with it. I’m really happy for him, and None of his success really surprises me. Getting a first-hand view of what he put into it every week for 20 years,” Brady further said.
It is worth noting that Brady and Belichick won six Super Bowls together with the Patriots. Many believe Belichick was the reason the GOAT achieved so much in his career. After winning against the Jets this Sunday, the 70-year-old Belichick won his 325th game, including the postseason. Now, Hall of Famer Don Shula is the only coach who’s ahead of Belichick with 347 wins in total.

Brady and Belichick are not having a great season
Despite winning against the Jets, Belichick and the Patriots are currently at the bottom of the AFC East division with 4 wins and 4 losses. It looks like they will miss the playoffs this season; however, the Patriots fans are still keeping faith in Belichick and his coaching ability.

On the other hand, Tom Brady is enduring a terrible season so far, as he has fallen below 0.500 for the first time in his career. Amidst Brady’s personal crisis, the Bucs are not performing well at the moment. Moreover, the quarterback’s performance has also been questionable so far this season. Next week, they will play against the Rams, which will be a must-win game for them, certainly.
