Former Pakistani Speedster Shoaib Akhtar joins in on emphasizing the harsh fact that the much fancied Indo-Pak bilateral series is still far from reality. The bowler  who bowled the fastest delivery in international cricket ever pinpointed that the ‘border unrest’ and terror links as the main causes holding the governments on agreeing to the cricket depicting the epic rivalry.

“Everybody knows to keep politics separate from sport, but unfortunately there’s a lot of unrest on the borders and it’s not right to play at this time,” Akhtar said.

He only confirmed the same thought, as BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur had already mentioned the slim chances of the series, followed by ICC president Zaheer Abbas confirming that the two countries’ governments are indeed at loggerheads about the proposed series.

The quickie also added that the neighboring countries have produced the best in the game and their rivalry in indeed epic.
“I would encourage that, whenever the unrest settles and whenever India and Pakistan are ready to talk again at the highest level, cricket would be the perfect way to bridge relations.

“They are still two of the best teams in the world and neither can avoid each other if you want to keep cricket interesting. You cannot ignore that the rarest of talent comes out of these countries and that people love to see them play against each other,” Akhtar concluded.
