Get ready to laugh! Talk show queen Gayle King is known for her hard-hitting interviews. This time she’s switching gears to hilarious prankster. King took to Instagram to share her latest prank. It involves none other than media mogul Oprah Winfrey and basketball legend Charles Barkley.

The caption reads: “Have you heard of the oil rig prank happening? Where people are calling family members & friends saying they got a job in underwater welding. I love a harmless prank so I called @oprah, @charleswbarkley, favorite kids Will & Kirby, and fav son-in-law Virgil…turns out they all had thoughts…”

The post is accompanied by a video which shows King making the prank calls. While the full video isn’t available from the post itself, we can use our imaginations to fill in the blanks based on the captions and what we know about these personalities. We can only picture King’s tone as she dials Oprah’s number. Oprah who is known for her vast business empire. There was a mix of concern and amusement, questioning why Charles Barkley would take a job underwater.

Charles Barkley, on the other hand, is famous for his unfiltered personality and comedic timing. Imagine his voice on the phone which comes with a surprised “No, F*ck No!” upon hearing about the supposed oil rig job from Gayle’s voice.

Charles Barkley getting pranked

This isn’t the first time Barkley has been pranked. Shaq, who is Barkley’s longtime friend loves to play with Chuck’s tech knowledge. One prank involved Shaq “disappearing” Barkley’s phone, only to reveal that it was hidden beneath a mountain of papers on his desk. Another involved a fake technical issue that left Barkley’s microphone mysteriously muted, much to his amusement.

A fan favorite, another prank involves Ernie Johnson setting up Barkley for a seemingly innocent game of ping pong. Except, the balls are replaced with bouncy doughnuts and other treats. Barkley, ever the competitor, gets increasingly frustrated as sugary snacks rain down on him. This prank has been revisited multiple times, each time eliciting a fresh outburst of hilarity from Chuck and the audience.

These are just a few examples of the many pranks that have made Charles Barkley a comedic punching bag (and occasional mastermind – he’s gotten Shaq back a few times too!).
