The league’s first season under his ownership is in full swing and it already creating some waves. One of the emerging stories is of an XFL hero, who chose this league over the NFL for his six-year-old son. And Johnson has sent his salutes to the hero for choosing this path to return to the football field.

A.J. McCarron is proving to be a game-changer for the St. Louis Battlehawks. The former NFL QB has created a special impression on Johnson and numerous fans watching him play.

Dwayne Johnson pens a special note

After A.J. McCarron put up yet another spectacular performance for the Battlehawks, XFL owner Dwayne Johnson saluted the QB with a special note. Johnson revealed that he is taking less money to sign for the league to create special memories with his boys.

“Takes less money signing with us over the NFL because he wanted his little boys to see him play. Now he’s 2-0 and led his team to back-to-back exciting last minute wins. I’d say he’s creating some memories for his boys. AJ’s decision means a helluva lot to me, personally,” Johnson wrote on Twitter.

McCarron played in the NFL for eight seasons before joining the XFL to become a starter. And his biggest motivation to do so? His six-year-old son loves to watch clips of his father on YouTube. McCarron chose less money so that his kids could see him play. And the Battlehawks might thank the kids as they were the reason the franchise got a QB1 who has already led them to two last-minute victories.

Spectacular turnaround for McCarron

A.J. McCarron led the Battlehawks to two back-to-back victories in the XFL. The former Cincinnati Bengals backup QB led his team to a comeback win over the San Antonio Brahmas on his XFL debut. His wife Katherine Webb posted a sweet note after the QB scored two touchdowns to get an 18-15 win.

“Not many ppl know how meaningful this win was but you a baddd man,” Webb wrote on her Instagram stories after the game.

The QB added some more sweet memories to the spectacular turnaround after he downed the Seattle Sea Dragons in another come-from-behind win. His kids would be proud of their dad. And he is creating great memories with them on the football field.
