Days after making his surprise appearance at WrestleMania 39 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, former NFL punter Pat McAfee still looks to be riding the high adrenaline wave. And he is showing appreciation for the WWE organization and its founder and chairperson, Vince McMahon, by heaping tons of praise on the 77-year-old businessman. Especially now that Vince is finally completing the full circle, selling the organization he built with his own hands over four decades.
As UFC parent company Endeavor Group closes in on its purchase of the WWE organization, the valuation of the company Vince bought from his father in 1982 has gone up a whopping 9300 times in net worth. Pat couldn’t help but salute Vince’s journey from a trailer park to becoming the godfather of the wrestling entertainment industry.

Nearly half a century ago, a young Vince McMahon joined Capitol Wrestling Corporation. A few years down the road, he founded Titan Sports, the parent organization of the WWF, and later the WWE. In 1982, Vince bought Capitol Wrestling from his ailing father for 1 million dollars. 41 years later, he is selling his wrestling enterprise, albeit still retaining chairperson rights, to Endeavor Group for an estimated valuation of $9.3 billion.

“Trailer Park to this. What a story,” the former Indianapolis Colts player said on Monday. “There’ll probably be a lot of people that say terrible things about him. Situations happened. And he has not necessarily acted like a f—-ing angel in any of those situations. He’s certainly a human being. But the story of the business of the American dream like, that’s a f—ing crazy one,” Pat added, referring to McMahon’s resignation in July last year after charges of paying off women and alleged misconduct. He returned as the chair in January 2023 to oversee the sale.
Pat had some help from the NFL in his WrestleMania fight
McAfee’s opponent, The Miz, was the designated host for the two-night WrestleMania 39 event in Los Angeles. However, when Miz’s co-host Snoop Dogg suggested an impromptu face-off with Pat, things got interesting. Miz tried to walk away and encountered an unlikely foe along the sidelines.

Pat the punter finished off the Miz with his trademark punt kick before celebrating with Kittle. This is McAfee’s second WrestleMania victory in a row after he beat Austin Theory last year at Arlington before eventually losing to Vince McMahon. This isn’t the first time an NFL star has guest-starred, as Rob Gronkowski got in the ring in WrestleMania 33 in Orlando to fight Jinder Mahal. Before that, Giants icon Lawrence Taylor beat Bam Bam Bigelow in WrestleMania XI. Guess the NFL stars always have an upper hand when it comes to wrestling in the main events.
