Marvel might be known for its multiverse, but it seems that universes are colliding in the NFL world too. In the world of UFC, the NFL, and politics found a common stage. Joe Burrow and Odell Beckham Jr. were among a long list of celebrities, including the one and only Donald Trump, to make an appearance at the famed Kaseya Centre, better known as FTX Center, in Miami for UFC 287.

The worlds of sports and politics collided once again as former President Donald Trump made his first public appearance, since his indictment, at the UFC 287 event in Miami. The crowd was all for it, though, as the former President was greeted with roaring applause and chants as he entered the arena. But above all, his meeting with a few NFL ‘fans’ caught the eye of the sports world.

The presence of Joe Burrow and Odell Beckham Jr. at the event caught many people off guard. Meanwhile, OBJ has himself been embroiled in controversy over his political views and past comments about the former president.

As a result, many NFL fans were not pleased to see Burrow and Beckham Jr. shake hands with Trump at FTX Arena in Miami.

Both Burrow and OBJ did catch a lot of flack on social media as fans expressed their disappointment and frustration with the players. The encounter was brief and seemed to take place in passing, but it did catch many off guard, including perhaps, the former President himself.

This certainly isn’t Burrow’s first encounter with President Trump. The former President is seemingly a fan of the QB, as many might remember his appearance at the college matchup between LSU and Alabama in 2019. Trump made waves with his visit to witness the historical QB play of Burrow. Burrow himself was honored to have Trump witness the game.

“Regardless of your political views, that’s pretty cool, having the president at your game,” he said.

OBJ, on the other hand, has been critical of Trump in the past. But with their latest endeavors, it seems that the two might have put aside any past differences between them and the 45th President of the USA. Regardless of one’s personal views on this issue, it is clear that the relationship between sports and politics will continue to be a topic of discussion for years to come.
