Deshaun Watson is yet to know of his future. The Texans quarterback has been the subject of great speculation over recent weeks.

Watson demanded a trade from Houston after the franchise excluded him in the process to hire new GM Nick Caserio. While the Texans are reluctant to let Watson go as of now, they may have no choice if he forces the issue in the coming weeks.

However, one analyst believes he may be headed to a surprise destination. Colin Cowherd spoke on his show about the potential destinations for several quarterbacks.

When it comes to Deshaun Watson, he tipped him to move to the Carolina Panthers. He believes that they are the only team who can meet the steep demands put forth by the Houston Texans for Watson.

“I’m going to say the Panthers acquire Deshaun Watson,” Cowherd said. “Why? Because you can give Houston everything they want.

“A bridge quarterback, draft pick, three first-round picks, and Christian McCaffrey star power. Lose Deshaun, you need some star-power, this is an organization that needs first-round picks.”

Deshaun Watson a fit for Carolina Panthers?

Cowherd added that the Panthers have the most plausible scenario to bring in Deshaun Watson. Head Coach Matt Rhule wields a lot of power within the franchise.

Furthermore, he compared Panthers’ owner David Tepper to NBA franchise LA Clippers’ owner Steve Ballmer. Both are bold, risk-taking owners who would have the will to bring in a star player, even at a massive cost.

“And remember Matt Rhule has power in the organization. He’s a brand new coach. David Tepper, the owner of that team, he’s a role the dice guy.

“A highly aggressive, Steve Ballmer-like owner, they would make a move like this. They give up multiple picks, Christian McCaffrey. So I would go with Panthers acquire Watson.”

Where will Deshaun Watson start the next season? It appears as though Watson has a lot of suitors, given the quarterback situation for many teams in the NFL. But given the Texans’ high asking price for him, a trade may be difficult to pull off.

However, a player of Watson’s caliber becomes available on the trade market very rarely, and teams should capitalize on his availability.
